First, I'd like to say what a great joy it was to meet Di and Mike in person. It was like we were old friends as soon as we saw each other.
Second, I'd like to thank them for having the immense patience to sit through the karaoke contest. It was a hot, long, loud event and they hung in there until the final decision.
Third, I wish I could have made it worth their while and been able to report I made it in to the semis, but alas, the mind is willing, but the voice is weak.
And lastly, I'm going to take this as a sign and formally announce my retirement from the "contest" aspects of singing. It's a young person's game...all the winners were under the age of 20, and spry as I feel, I just ain't got the moves to put me in contention. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop singing, (wouldn't want to dissapoint my fan.
) just not entering contests anymore. I realize that despite my advancing age, I'm still pretty competitive and my ego doesn't do well with getting bashed in every other week.
I got some pictures, but Mike and Di have the bulk of them so you'll have to wait until they are able to post pictures of the three of us.
The Festival was fun. Luckily it wasn't too hot...but it was dusty. I'll leave it to Mike and Di to report what we had as our Lean and Green. We tried staying as compliant as we could. We had planned on having the garlic chicken stif-fry, but then found out it contained noodles so we had to move into "plan b".
You all have a great weekend.
