LASIK SURGERY TUESDAY!!!

Postby martha » July 29th, 2005, 8:32 pm

Hi EVERYONE---

Well I went today and was qualified as a great canidate for Lasik Surgery..While I was there they went ahead and did the pre-op procedures.. I have worn glasses for over 30 years.. I can hardly wait.. Had someone sit with my mom and I went to N. Orleans today--they fit me in so Doug can take me for the surgery on Tuesday(he leaves at 3am Wed to go back to the boats for a month..) My daughter will take me on Wed. for the day after surgery follow-up.. I CAN"T STOP SMILING
I got up at 6 am today and gave mom breakfast and meds and shots--went to the closet and pondered what to wear today..Got out a size 14 stretch jean capri(haven't worn in years) and tried them on and THEY FIT!!!! OH MY GOSH--I liked to have started crying right then and there.. Doug couldn't believe it as I tried them on before vacation and they wouldn't meet.. wore them all day comfortably.. You were all right--try something not spandex on and see if it fits.. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
2 great things happening in my life now..Losing weight and being able to see everything pass my arms length without glasses..  Just had to share with you..things are looking up around this house  --thanks for letting me smile :D --Martha

Too cool Martha! A size 14? That must feel GREAT!!
Good luck with your Lasik surgery. I have never worn glasses but always thought it would be a pain!! I hear that you can see really well even immediately after the surgery? Im glad you will be able to be super skinny and georgous and glass free!!!!
Happy Saturday to you!

Congrats on getting the lasik soon Martha! I'm saving my pennies up to get it done myself - I've had glasses since I was 10 years old and I can't wear contacts anymore (dry eyes). Let us know how it goes.

Enjoy those 14's - pretty soon they'll be too big!!

Thanks everyone--I can't wait till they are to BIG

Just found out the drops I am suppose to put in my eyes the day before surgery have Levaquin in them.. I almost died from this a couple of years ago..4 days and 2 specialist later before I came around.. Pretty bad reaction..Thank God I didn't stop on the way home from N.Orleans and pick this up(came close to this) BUT decided to wait.. Pharmacist called and had a fit about how bad my reaction was years ago.. Nowhere does this bottle say Levaquin on it.. I would have taken the sleeping pills and went to bed with this in my eyes... How great to know we have people and angels watching over us at all times.... My point is you never know  This is soo scarey as my eye sight is at risk.. now I am soo scared.. they are closed till Monday and that is when I was suppose to start the drops..Keep your fingers crossed for me as I reconsider this..(already paid for this) It's like losing one of my dreams--NO GLASSES!!!At least if it doesn't work out I will still be losing the FAT!!!!!!!!and not my eye sight.. thanks for letting me vent--Martha

Hi--

Well just got some new drops so the surgery is still on for now.. They never change the drops they said as they are tropicl and not in the blood stream but with my reaction being so bad they did.. besides my druggist wouldn't take the responsibilty for filling it.. The druggist reminded them that they would be cutting into my eye and there was a chance the drops could seep into the cut.. SO NOW I HAVE NEW DROPS..YEAH!!!!!!!! no glasses and the fat is melting away.. now who could ask for more than that??
Thanks for all of your concern and still would like your prayers as I am still a little scared..Will let you all know how it goes after Wed..Thanks--Martha

Martha-

Sorry for the late response. I am so excited for you about your eye surgery. I will keep you in my prayers. I have always wanted to get the surgery done & hopefully will in the next few years. I am blind as a bat & I can relate to you 100% about not being able to see past arms length.

Size 14!!! TERRIFIC!!!! I bet you feel like a new woman. You deserve all the wonderful blessings you are receiving.

Nancy--

YES it will be nice to lose all this weight finally  and I can't wait till I have the eye surgery tomorrow..I bought this on eBuys (the newspaper from the Gulf Coast) and got both eyes, 6 months of follow-ups and all the pre-op stuff for less than 700.00.. that's right I said 700.00.. This is one of the top eye guys around these parts and he donates 10 of these every Oct to the paper..and there's no expiration on them and transferable too. He said I could resale it if I didn't use it.. Now he normally gets 1250.00 per eye but advertises 699.00 per eye sometimes.. no insurance or discounts on those prices of 699. per eye. I think this was a great deal.. I never pay full price for anything--I swear I am a bargain hunter to the end   Just call me cheap-o   I don't mind cause I love a bargain..

I fell last night (blacked out) in the restroom. :x First time I ever did this.. was out we figure about 20 minutes or so.. this was at 3.10am.. and I woke up around 3:40am on the floor. Now this room is long and skinny and I was wadded up half out of the room and half twisted up against the counter.. Haven't the slightest idea what happened and messed my shoulder up pretty good(pulled the skin off a good size part and bruised over 1/2 of the top and side of my shoulder.. had a severe headache( we think I hit my head on the tiled counter top before I hit the floor) and a sprained ankle(twisted badly) and a big bruise on my back(spine) I am so sore but having the eye surgery anyway  I can always tell them my eye site is so bad I couldn't see where I was going  I actually thought I had laid on the floor when I woke up till I tried to move.. I drew a big BLANK on this..
My mom is worried about the fall being from MF but I told her NO WAY-- I haven't a clue and other than being bruised and very sore and a slight limp  I am okay.. So I am asking for prayers as I will probably have the black and blue eyes to go with it tomorrow :D :D Boy I am not a walking MF billboard now.. Would probably scare away all future clients  --Thanks for all your prayers and kind thoughts--Martha

 Oh, Hunny!

 That's :redhead: nasty. Didja call your doc?

Maybe your BP dropped - when we move too fast, we can feel a bit woozy at times. Have you had any Fast Soup lately?

Poor Girl! You be careful now or Mom will have to scoochy over and have you :snooze: lie next to her.

Praying for you, my Friend!
