HI!

Postby jlaman79 » December 6th, 2006, 5:26 am

I thought I recognized your screen name from the MY Mf site. I've also made my way over here for the same reasons.

I still check in over there and use the meal logs and all of that, but this forum is so much more supportive and informative.

Glad to see you again.

Hi! I saw you here when I first came around as well. And I still use the mymedifast site to log meals as well. I really feel much better about things since I've come to this site! Everyone here is so great...I'm happy to see you here too and thanks for saying hi! :D

HELP!! I'm surrounded by PIZZA!!!

Postby LadyT » December 9th, 2006, 10:01 pm

I have dodged a few bullets this weekend - and it's only Saturday night! Yesterday at work, my boss decided to get pizzas for lunch, and even though I had to endure the wonderful smell of those carb-laden beauties...I remained 100% compliant. Until...last night was my office Christmas party. I did have one drink - but it was vodka and diet coke...and I only had ONE (and it was open bar, so it was small  )- which is pretty darn good for me. I also stayed away from the desserts at the party and actually had less of my L&G than I intended to (not much L&G-friendly food there), but I don't think it was too little to worry about. I did get all my MF meals in though, so for me it was a very successful day. It didn't end up 100% on plan, but it was a big behavioral change for me to be as good as I was!
Today, I did hair for 4 people in my kitchen (friends and family). I really forgot how tiring it is to stand on my feet like that! I was able to stay on plan though - with no problems today- even when my DH and my best friend and her hubby ate pizza and peanut butter chex mix in front of me!!!
I am really trying to be as strict to this plan as I can. I am a slow loser to begin with (hypothyroidism is NOT my friend), so I am hoping to get to Onderland in the next few weeks. It may take me longer than planned and I should probably not fixate on numbers and timeframes, but that's me. So I'm trying to just take each day as it comes...that's all we can do!
I just hope I don't have to watch more people eat pizza tomorrow... :x

Thanks so much for bringing up hypothyroidism. I stopped taking my Synthroid 7 months ago and got royally chewed out about it by my internist this week. When I brought the prescription home the corresponding paperwork indicated that there could be a possible contraindication based on one of the meds my psychiatrist has me on...argh. Of course I failed to call my internist or pharmacist back to check for sure. I am putting it on the calendar to call!

Fingers Crossed!

Postby LadyT » December 11th, 2006, 5:57 pm

I have a job interview on Thursday morning. It's for a very big company, and I really hope I get this position! I really can't take working at my current job - I've maxed out my salary, and have basically gone as far as I can there. Also - an incident happened at our x-mas party that should have resulted in someone being fired (IMO)- but that didn't happen...very disappointed in my new boss (one of the former sales reps). Sometimes the best salesperson does NOT make the best manager! :x
Anyway - it's time for me to move on. This company I'm interviewing with is so much bigger than what I'm used to, and I haven't had to interview for a job before, so I'm not sure what to expect! My husband is being so great trying to help me. It's just something I will have to do on my own though. Hopefully they won't ask me questions that I have no answer for! The potential job is pretty much what I do now, so I should be ok...I'm just nervous - in case you couldn't tell!!
This job will be only about 7 minutes from my house....that would be sweet!! My commute isn't the worst in the world...but in the summer it's horrible!!
Anyway - please send all your good vibes/prayers/wishes and knock on wood with your fingers crossed for me! ;)

Good Luck T!

I KNOW you'll knock their socks off! I am doing a good luck dance (it's very similar to my Snoopy dance, but still effective) for you!

Hi Tracey, I am sending a bunch of good vibes to ya', even as we "speak" ! You have a good sense about you in wanting to further develop your abilities... it's only right for there to be a place for that to happen.

Cheers to you,
Karli

Thanks Karli!!!! It would be great to work for this company. I'm sure they are interviewing many people, so hopefully I'll get called back for a second interview...I'm so nervous!
