Ketosis Question

Postby bluelady » February 10th, 2006, 11:18 am

I am on day 4 of the plan. On day 3 i was in ketosis, but was so washed out that I had to lie down most of the day. I ate all my meals, but was just physically wasted. Today, day 4, when I tested this morning I was negative for ketones. Is this normal?

That really didn't answer the question....and yes, I read them all. The question is should you be going in and out of ketosis if you are following the program? That is not addressed.
It gets easier!

The state of ketosis that Medifast puts your body in is so slight that at times you won't even register ketones on the sticks. This does NOT mean you are NOT in ketosis. This was verified by my MD recently. If you are experiencing less hunger or if you have increased energy but most important if you are following the program than I am 99% sure you are in Ketosis.

Hope this helps

Ketosis

Lisa is exactly right!!
Most times the ketosis will be sooo slight that it won't even register on Ketosis sticks. Don't rely on them. If you are following the program you will be parting with the pounds. If you are feeling really tired and whoosy I would guess that your electrolite balance is a little off. You are losing lots of water. A bouillon cube will help replace some of the lost salts.
