The oatmeals are very filling. I usually have one of those for breakfast, my favorite is the peach. :)

Nice to already get an NSV (non-scale victory) like that! Way to go!

Well, after such a banner 1st week, Kelly, you deserve to start the next with a NSV! <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_5_131.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D23%252F23_5_131/image.gif">

Hi Kelly,

I never reallly thought of having the bars for breakfast...I've always thought of them as an evening treat. But I recently read somewhere that I probably shouldn't use them as my last supplement of the day so I might just switch.

How are the kitties doing with their potty training?

Last night wasn't a very good night.. I cooked shrimps for Jer, and intended on having 6-7oz myself, but then when they were done cooking, they just became very unappetizing to me. So I had a salad with tomato, pickles, the dark green bits from a head of romaine, and cheese. I probably had WAY too much cheese.. I couldn't find the measuring cup so I could do 1/2c, it probably ended up being way closer to 1c. I think I need to stop having cheese altogether, it's one of my all time favorite foods. I think it will eventually cause a slippery slope that I can't recover from.
I seem to do ok with the cottage cheese though, and I like having 1/2c cottage cheese along with 3.5oz chicken or something.

The potty training is going better.. they're using the form and seem happy about it. In a few days, I'll cut the middle out of it and only use a few sprinkles of litter and see how they manage. I'm having to really fight with myself to not be impatient about this - but it's annoying having to sweep up litter from around the toilet every time I'm in there (which is like every hour, from all the water I'm drinking!)

Kelly,
You can have 1/2 c to 1 cup lowfat cheese as your lean, so you did fine on the meal. Its high in salt so just be careful.

As for bars, the best time for them is during the active part of the day. We are told not to start with them and not to end with them (except for diabetics with those bars they do suggest ending with them).

You are doing great.

I'm drinking 3 litres or more of water every day.. staying compliant.. and yet when I got on scale this morning, I had put on 2.2 pounds.

I had chicken thighs last night, 3oz, a little bbq sauce, cottage cheese, tomato and green salad with dressing. Probably too much dressing. Also last 3 meals of day were very squished together.

I really REALLY need to get on a regular sleep/wake cycle.. but only working 1 day a week and then the rest working at home makes it so easy to sleep in on those other days. Today I woke around 730 with Jer, and up out of bed around 8. If only I could continue this every day!

Also not running to bathroom as much as I was at beginning, which is surprising since I'm drinking more than I did when I started.

I made all sorts of stuff yesterday in preparation for a dinner tonight with sis and bro in law and the kiddo.. almond/honey/date balls, tabbouleh, and I made Jer chicken pitas last night with honey mustard sauce.. maybe I absorbed the sugar through my fingers. :?

See, THIS is why I don't weigh daily, I would obsess over the scale, and go paranoid over every little thing.

Kelly, the scale will fluctuate without rhyme or reason quite often. So if you know you are being compliant, those pounds will disappear eventually. Sometimes it just takes patience.

Oh Kelly, I feel your pain!

I was on that blasted scale again today, but I'm going to stay off until Sundays from here on. The ups and downs just mess with my mind.

I'm in awe of all the cooking you do and still manage to stay on the plan  You must be incredibly committed!

Have a great day!

You're right biki, I'll have to keep telling myself that.. and try staying off the scale like I said I would!

Mav.. I LOVE to cook (I'm actually accepted to Le Cordon Bleu, I'm hoping to go next March)! I find that the culinary arts are very special, unlike other art forms, it touches all the senses.

But I've never really eaten what I've made, especially sweet stuff. After spending all that time thinking about, coming up with a recipe, shopping, preparing, cooking and making it look pretty.. I'm tired of looking at it and don't want to bother to eat it!

I admire people who can cook.....I mean really cook. I cook....... but I'm not great at it. I think that gene got left out somewhere.

You're doing great, Kelly!!!!

I'm fighting the temptation to get on the scale today and check up on that 2.2# from yesterday... but I've already drank like 1.5 litres of water, so I know it wouldn't be accurate anyways. :?

I realized that I've been "eyeballing" alot of my L&Gs, and I really need to quit that.

I eat a half cup tomato and a green salad (simply the dark green parts of romaine and a few baby spinach leaves) every night and I love the salad.. I really have to fight with myself not to have more.

I might switch it up and go with 3 cups of greens and no other veggies to fill that craving. I'm trying to figure out if I'm craving it because I NEED it, or just want it. I have an iron deficiency, so I wonder if that's why I'm wanting the greens so badly?

Also, I've been wondering if having a MF meal as the lean portion and a green salad is a good idea? I sat down to supper last night and realized that while I loved my salad, I would rather have a cup of cream of broccolli soup than my chicken portion.

No no.. having a MF meal instead of the lean would be too many carbs and knock you out of ketosis. Lean has 0 carbs you know! :)

Per the new quickstart guide coming out, you can have 3 cups of salad greens instead of 2 cups of greens and 1/2 c of raw veggie.
