Basically, yes. I am really pathetic, I can't seem to deal with portion control, unless I premake, premeasure everything and package meals to eat later. If I cook when I'm hungry, I'm screwed.. everything gets overmeasured or not measured at all and just eyeballed.

Day 2 down on 6-0, 9 days total on MF. It was a hard day, emotionally, which makes it a hard day diet wise. Only had 3.5 litres of water, and I think I had 3 diet pepsi's, which I think is off plan? I forget how many caffeine's we can have in a day. Truthfully, I couldn't make myself care at the time (or now for that matter). 1cal, 0 fat, 0carbs in a diet pepsi.. if I went over the caffeine units for the day then it was worth it, that pepsi kept me from doing something drastic, lol.

125cals on the bike today. It felt good. I could do more, I want to do more, but I only had 755cals today total. I have doctors appt on the 5th, will ask him then what the most cals I could burn in a day and not hurt myself would be.

Hi Kelly,

It is a hard thing. One of my hardest things is the portion control also. One thing that may help us all are these thermogenic products. The one thing that sucks for me is that the three drinks are not my favorites (couldn't they make it in Hot Cocoa) ;)
But, they should help with hunger and also, as Nancy mentioned in her post.... they help us burn calories just by taking them in.

Here is to a better life.

The Quickstart Guide states it has a caffeine limit because it makes some people too jittery with the change in diet when they start Medifast. I never followed it when it came to my coffee because I didn't have jitters and coffee is one of my favorite things in life. You are NOT pathetic. You are tryng your hardest, which counts! Stop the negative self-talk! The only reason too much soda would be bad is if it prevented you from consuming all your water, which it kind of sounds like it might. Progress not perfection. Just drink your water!!!! :water:

Mike, I will definitely be trying those thermogenic things in my next order, I think I will do the infusers though as I don't like the hot drinks, and I might try the banana creme shakes again, though I don't like how artificial they taste.

I almost cried reading that. Thank you.

kelly, it sounds like you are giving it your all, and that's what matters! At least you have been able to control what you put in your mouth. Stuff happens in life and you seem to have control over the MF thing, even tho it may seem like a struggle sometimes. YOU ARE BEATING IT! KEEP IT GOING!

Day 10 OP, but back to Day 1 on 6-0..

Going through one of the toughest times emotionally, that I have ever been through in my life.

Yesterday, I thought for almost 2 hours about going to the resto with Jer and having ribs and fries. Finally, I didn't, and watched AI and had a shake.. when AI was over, I still had to have 1 more meal.. so I was naughty and had an L&G.. probably the worst L&G, a cup of cheese and 1.5c tomatoes. I was STUFFED.. it made me feel disgusting, and I still feel sort of gross today, I'm still full from last night, I had to force my RTD this morning, and my water too, I've only managed 500ml.

Whatever. I got it out of my system, and I can still be happy that I didn't go roaringly off plan. I see what Katie meant by an L&G really being a treat when you're on 6-0.

Anyways, back to it today. I must say, I am proud I didn't cave in and go to the resto.. or head downstairs to the evil evil depanneur and buy a bag of doritos and tear through it. I even managed 4litres yesterday and only 1 diet pepsi.

The scale is going up and down.. I was down to 395 last Saturday, back up to 398 where I hovered for a while, back to 395.6 yesterday and it was about the same today. I *feel* smaller, lighter.. but the scale isn't reflecting it. I can't find my ribbon tape to take measurements either.

TMI warning.. I was spotting yesterday, so I guess my TOM is otw.. maybe that's why the scale is fluctuating so much.

I was going to say it, but you said it yourself right here:

Look how much you've learned, look how far you came...Hold your head HIGH and be PROUD! You DID NOT let emotions get the best of you and you didn't go for ribs and fries...you went for a L & G! GOOD GIRL!

My scale is sticking around the same place right now too and it's frustrating...but I'm so proud of you!

The scale still isn't moving, which is frustrating the hell out of me. I am logging everything on the TSFL website, my TEE is 3516cals/day, I am at 1000cals eaten for the past 11 days - thats 27676 calories burned, and if 3500 cals = 1 lb of fat, I should have lost just shy of 8 lbs by now. This is a rough calculation, I have been below 1000cals every day.

My water consumption is fluctuating alot, but I am always above 3 litres, most days I am closer to 5.

How is this possible that I have lost nearly nothing?? I don't feel as though I am holding water, in fact my fingers and ankles are less swollen than they have in a long time.

:x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

Ok, got that out.
I will stay with it, because truth is, I am feeling better, and the weight HAS to come off at some point, right??

This was a really really rough week. Boy am I glad it is Friday!
I did have some good news today though, heaven knows I needed it too! My bestest friend in the whole wide world had to go home to France because her work permit in Canada expired (it was a 1 year visa); and she was granted an extension this week! I haven't seen her since the end of November, I am so so so happy she will be coming back soon!!!!!

HAPPY DANCE!

just wanted to check in on ya. I know what you mean about that darn scale. I wrote in my journal about the scale and trying not to focus on it. As you probably know i am a self proclaimed scale whore but recently, for some reason, it has almost become unimportant. I don't know how long this feeling will last, maybe a few more days, maybe til goal (probably only til sunday's roll call :roflmao:). I too, have upped my water intake, but it has been up and down this week. I notice you say that your water has been fluctuating. In looking at myself, I think that our bodies get used to a certain level of water, then when we decrease it, our bodies hold on to extra water until our consumption becomes consistent again. Try making your water intake a consistent amount and see if that helps. Either way, keep at it because you are right, the weight HAS to come off at some point.

Hi

Postby dede4wd » January 18th, 2008, 11:41 pm

You're not alone. I'm also experiencing rampant scale uncooperation, it's frustrating. But...we KNOW we're doing everything right. I'm adjusting my exercise a bit and upping my water, but I KNOW it's like a staring contest I'm having with my body and I will make IT blink first!

You can get through this...just an adjustment period...your bod WILL blink!

Hang in there!

I think I would feel gross too... ;)

I hope it was lowfat cheese. And don't forget, tomatoes, although on the list, are also in the highest carb category.... so it makes sense that if you had a cup and a half, you might feel yucky from carbs and (if it wasn't lowfat) the fat. Greens are best.... but you know that...

Keep at it, I still think you are doing a great job.

Hey Kelly, So sorry that you have not lost anything. The one thing is your are exercising and that could be a stall for right now. Especially doing the 6/0 .Girl you might be building muscle <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_6_17.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D12%252F12_6_17/image.gif"> muscle weighs more then fat does. :?

I am on the 6/0 and I have decided that I am not going to incorporate exercise until I am good with the whole staying OP. Right now I am not and if I did not see a loss I would be pi$$ed.

I am so happy that your best friend is able to come back. Hope you have a great saturday.

I love love love tomatoes.. I eat them like others eat apples.. I love canned tomatoes too. Lowfat cheese yes, it was 2% cottage cheese actually.

Had L&G last night, 1c 2% cottage cheese, 2c greens, 1/4c cucumber, 1/4c tomatoes.. and about an hour later I was sick and lost it all. I had been feeling nauseated all day but by the time I got home from Shabbat, I felt much better. I didn't eat anything at Shabbat except the cucumbers and tomatoes (which my MIL was nice enough not to dress in oil and lemon as usual, she only sprinkled with sea salt and pepper). I guess I wasn't feeling as well as I thought though. Today, feeling better but my stomach HURTS... like pulled muscle hurt, not a normal tummy ache hurt. Had a shake and 2 glasses of water this morning, I feel ok aside from my tummy hurting.

Scale finally dropped.. I guess it took vomiting for it to move. Down to 391.4. Maybe I really should stay off the scale except on weekends. That is like a 4.5lb drop from last week.

In fact, I am going to make that my new goal. No scale except on Saturday and/or Sunday. I think I'll ask Jer to hide it from me tomorrow and not tell me where it is until next week no matter how much I beg and plead.
