So got back from the Doctors. He was so excited about my weight loss.
He asked me what diet I was doing. I told him. He has heard of it But really did not know much about it. He asked me a few questions about it. He thinks it is great. He did want to run some test. He wants to make sure I am getting enought Vitamins. He is going to do a Cholesterol test. Another test for the Kidneys and Liver. MY blood pressure was great. It is so nice to have doctor that really cares about you. He gave me a hug and said he was really proud of me that I am losing this weight.

He told me that he is going to do some research on this diet. And if all of my bloodwork comes back great. He will suggest it to other people.

Katie~ That's awesome! I don't think my doctor has ever hugged anyone. Maybe I need to find a new doctor. ;)

Sounds like things are going well. Keep it up!

That's great, Katie! I bet the bloodwork will come back much improved (if it wasn't great to start with).

What great feedback from your doctor. I hope you'll share with us how your bloodwork turns out. I've got an appointment in about 3 weeks with my Lipid specialist (genetically high cholesterol). I'm a bit apprehensive about telling him I'm on Medifast (I don't want to be told not to do it). I've wondered what the response has been by doctors to others so your post caught my eye and my interest.

I would be honest with my doctor. It doesn't mean you have to do what he says. :) When I went in for my physical and my blood work came back, I was taken OFF my cholesterol and diabetes meds so he might be very happy about your Medifast choice.

So I went off Medifast this past weekend. The Hubby took me to atlantic city. I won $1200.00. I was so excited. It takes us 2 1/2 hours to get there . We played for about 3 hours. My husband made me leave :x . He knew that if I started losing I would lose it all. So we were in the car more then in the casinos. I had so much fun.

But once again I did go off program on Friday and I am restarting today. I gained 1/2 a pound. I am okay with that. I finally relized that it took me 24 years to gain this weight. I am not going to get upset about 1/2#,

I do have a headache though. The first three days are really hard. But I know it is worth it.

Sounds like you had a great time and won some money too. <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_36.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D36%252F36_1_36/image.gif">

I'm glad you had a good time and are ready to get back to it. I don't really trust myself enough to go off plan just yet. I'm afraid it would really cause me to go on a downward spiral. You seem to be determined, so I'm sure you'll do fine. I hope the headache goes away.

Woke up today with a headache. I do not know if it is because of the getting back on track. Or could it be that my husband is home this morning and disrupts everything. (he usually leaves around 5:45 am) I am still in bed at that time and so is my son. When Matthew my son see's that my husband is home he naturally thinks he does not have school that day. So it is really hard to get him ready for school.

I am really excited about getting back on track. I did real well I was compliant all day. Lost that 1/2 pound and a little more. But my official weigh in day is going to be on Sundays.

Thanks Donica you are so supportive. <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_67.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D36%252F36_1_67/image.gif">

I absolutely love this program and everyone on it.

Woke up today in a great mood. So I washed my favorite jeans yesterday that were so loose on me. Well I take them out of the dryer (tight) I know I know of course they are going to shrink. It just felt really good that they were so loose on me the other day. Had a really good day yesterday was compliant. Did not drink that much water yesterday. I was on the road all day yesterday. I think I was on every major highway in New Jersey.

So I have a little situation. Wonder if my friends here can help me. It has nothing to do with Medifast.

My son is the youngest kid in his class and the youngest kid on his basketball team. Also Matthew is the tallest kid and biggest kid in his class. So alot of people think of him being alot older. Each kid is about 9 months older then him. So i believe his maturity level is diffrent from the other kids. Last week Matthew had a couple of great games he was making baskets left and right. Well Last night his basketball team had a game..............

Usually when Matthew is losing he starts getting very upset and will start to cry. (understood) no kid wants to lose a game. But the problem was they were winning but nobody was passing to him. So he started getting very upset and tears started coming down. Well the coaches thought he was hurt so they pulled him out. My husband went over there to console Matthew. Only to find out that he was upset that nobody was throwing the ball to him. Matthew is the only child we are not having anymore. Matthew can be very stubborn and can get very mad very quick........... Any help would be great I am pulling out my hair trying to help him............ I think he is just a sore loser. But nothing I say helps.

I know there are alot of parents and teachers on this website. I would love any awnsers on how I should handle this. Problem is I would usually take him out of the game. They only have 5 kids on the team. If I take him out they would have to forfeit. And I dont think I could let him do that to the team.

Thanks
Katie.

I think your boy needs the "team" lecture. Get it out, dust it off and tell him that when he plays on a team, he can't worry about how many times the ball is thrown to him. He needs to worry about the final product. Also, coaches are good at those kinds of lessons (well, some coaches are), so you may want to ask the coach to reinforce what you have said.

Remember......there is no "I" in team.

Oh, and I pretty much would not tolerate any more whining and complaining about it.

Katie~ My youngest son loves sports.....but, he struggles with wanting to be the "star" in everything. He is definitely an "It's all about me" kid. He just turned 16 and I totally understand the struggle you are going through. We had to do what Jo said (in his early years) and really have a talk with him about what it means to be part of a team. We had to reinforce this every week before the game. We told him that every member of the team is important because they all play different roles. It took a while for him to understand and honestly he still struggles with it at times.

On the other hand.......my son has experienced some players over the years refusing to pass him the ball because he was out-shining them. They needed someone to have the "team" discussion with them, because they certainly were not playing like a team. Kids can be cruel and not all parents take the approach of teaching their children the importance of team work. This can sometimes make it even harder as a parent to stick to your guns and still do what is right, even when there are those around who obviously aren't. doing what is right.

It's sad because it seems most coaches today only care about winning.....even at the earliest stages of teaching the sport. Young athletes need to be taught about fundamentals and team work.

I'm not sure which is your situation, but I can tell you....it does get easier and you get wiser.

Thanks everyone for the words about what to do with my son. We made him apologize to both of the coaches. He did he was a little embaressed. We did not make him do it in front of his friends though. The coaches took him and sat with him and explained that everyone has an important roll in the game.

I feel it is going to take a long time but we will just half to keep explaining it to him.

Also Got my labs back Everythung came back great. Cholesterol was 131. A year ago it was 190. Thyroid was great and my liver and kidneys are just fine. Love this program.

Got my new bedroom furniture last night. Can you believe I forgot to set my alarm this morning. Woke up at 7:16 My son needs to leave to goto school at 7:35. Let me tell you Mother mode went right into Super Mother Mode. Matthew made it on time.
