Awww, sorry. We had some cold last week (nothing compared to other parts of the country, but cold for us), but over the weekend it was in the 70s.

I'm ALWAYS freezing, for the past few years. I'm hoping it helps me get through the Texas summer this year, since I seem to be less and less tolerant of the cold.

And it's OK. It's the wrong time to ask, because right now I'm FUMING over something another department did. Grrrrr. But overall, it's OK here.

Hey Katie!
So glad you jumped back on board with us !! Just think...two more days and you'll be in the zone !! You can do it ! Heck if I can, believe me, YOU CAN !
The support really helps, doesn't it??
What a great dealyou got on Craigs list... Anyone we know?? Hee Hee !!

I can relate to the "feeling cold" thing. I was cold for most of the day on Sunday, despite a hot shower and blankets.
What is that all about ..do you know??

I've been colder in general lately, whether on MF or not. I imagine thin people are cold all the time without the insulating blubber on them. Well, actually, we know that's true because Robin just said so! I wonder if Lauren gets cold, or if all her running keeps her furnace stoked.

How was day 1? I'm holding my breath and jumping in today. Fresh attitude. Here we go!

I don't know if all thin people are cold all the time!! I tend to think it might be worse for those of us who are used to have more layers of insulation! The people who have been thin all along are probably more used to the cold. For me, it's still pretty fresh.

OTOH, it DOES help get me on the treadmill on cold mornings, because I know that's the one way I'll warm up. A LOT.

Yup, as soon as I started MF, I started getting cold...which was truly an oddity considering all the years I was so embarrassed being so darn hot and sweaty when everyone else was fine!

A couple things are at play: calories are energy, literally, when you eat it fuels your body, creates energy, and thus, creates warmth. When you're not eating as much, regardless of your weight, you literally have less "cooking" happening in your body, which makes you cold. (this is the very unscientific way of explaining a scientific process, obviously!) Additionally, all activities, when you're overweight, require much more effort to do, thus increasing your heart rate, which also increases your body temp. Then, once you actually DO lose a lot of weight, you have less fat, or insulation, so you don't have as much covering you to keep you warm.

All of that said, I was ridiculously uncomfortably freezing for all of my MF weight-loss journey and for about the first year of maintenance. Now I am still always on the cold side of things, but not to the extent that I was, more just like I am one of "those girls" who seems to always be chilly.

But hey, there's something strangely nice about being one of those girls, because I've never met an overweight person who was always cold, so it makes me feel part of some freak thin person sorority! Ha.

Enjoy!!

Well, that's a tough one. I hate being cold. But I suppose if the trade-off is not squeezing into size 20W forever then I'll take it.

Hello Hello Hello... My medi buddies. Doing great on Day 3. I did something different. Day 1,2,3 I woke up and took 2 tylenol. And I really really think that has helped me with the first 3 days. Usually I get terrible headaches. I am really excited. I feel great once i am up and about. Getting out of bed is another.

I was reading on other websites about people exercising. And I was shocked out how much weight they lost each week. Some people were saying 5lb a week for like 6 weeks straight. I never did like to exercise, and I still dont, But I think after the 21's I am going to start walking again.

Well anyways I will pop in later.. Have a great day everyone.

I wish exercise would do that for ME. But at least it HAS changed my body somewhat, and changed the way I FEEL about my body.

As for the cold thing, it makes me feel like a delicate flower. :) We actually just had a big to-do at work the other day over space heaters in offices. I told someone I'm ready to buy one of the Snuggli things, or whatever they're called. The things advertised on TV? Blankets with sleeves, basically. Although I need something to keep my hands warm at work. I already invested in Ugg boots because they seem to be the only thing that keeps my feet warm. Sigh.

And now back to Katie's regulary scheduled journal (sorry about the hijack; I'm typing a lot just to keep my fingers warm at this point).
