Yup, as soon as I started MF, I started getting cold...which was truly an oddity considering all the years I was so embarrassed being so darn hot and sweaty when everyone else was fine!
A couple things are at play: calories are energy, literally, when you eat it fuels your body, creates energy, and thus, creates warmth. When you're not eating as much, regardless of your weight, you literally have less "cooking" happening in your body, which makes you cold. (this is the very unscientific way of explaining a scientific process, obviously!) Additionally, all activities, when you're overweight, require much more effort to do, thus increasing your heart rate, which also increases your body temp. Then, once you actually DO lose a lot of weight, you have less fat, or insulation, so you don't have as much covering you to keep you warm.
All of that said, I was ridiculously uncomfortably freezing for all of my MF weight-loss journey and for about the first year of maintenance. Now I am still always on the cold side of things, but not to the extent that I was, more just like I am one of "those girls" who seems to always be chilly.
But hey, there's something strangely nice about being one of those girls, because I've never met an overweight person who was always cold, so it makes me feel part of some freak thin person sorority! Ha.
Enjoy!!
