I love my Crocs, too. There is no way that I'd ever have made it through the most painful days (dealing with my Plantar Fascitis (sp?) ) if I hadn't had my Crocs to wear. I'd sit up in bed, place my feet in those red Crocs and then put my weight on my feet. I was miserable when I wasn't wearing them and they made walking bearable.

I've read that some podiatrists feel they aren't beneficial and that some think they are great.....so who knows. I say, go with what feels best for your feet or that the doctor YOU trust says. There is no way on God's green earth that I would have tossed mine.....they were what made standing and walking bearable during the bad days/weeks.

The foot pain is gone now that the weight is off my body (knock on wood)....so keep up the great job Pam!

Today is a chilly one, but while my daughter is apple picking with my Mother, I will be resting...I really want to be walking in the cool, autumn air, but will be relaxing with my foot. Have to catch up on a very crazy week at work...Up at 5:00, and home by 7:00 each day just got me plain exhausted.

I know some of you do work in public schools, and for those of you who don't, it can be very hairy ! Lots of parents worrying (rightly so) about their children and here I come telling them that their precious ones have a learning disability... At least I have the gift of compassion (so I am told) and really try and help them through it all....My reason fo writing this is because I don't take that much time to care about ME !!!! I am slowly learning to, but at times everyone else has been coming first lately... At least I am more aware of it, and will make an effort to take special care of me for today...

Mike I know that you, Di and Nickie are all in schools too, so how do you balance it all?????

That's all for now...Have a great day all ! :D

Pam - I work in higher ed but understand about not taking time for yourself. All I can say is you have to do it. Consider it doctor's orders or even a prescription to set aside a certain amount of time for yourself each day. I raised two children alone and one of them was dyslexic so I had at least 2 hours every night working with her after working all day, cooking dinner, cleaning up, etc. I know what it is like to never have enough time. I used to get the same advice I am giving you but could not figure out how to find the time. I realized my long days (started at 5:30 am) left me exhausted and cranky so I made a new rule. When I got home I got 30 minutes of uninterrupted quiet time in my bedroom - ALONE! When my 30 minutes was up they came and got me and then I started dinner. I spent that 30 minutes lying on my bed with pillows elevating my feet and legs and closed my eyes. Sometimes I napped and sometimes I just vegged out. For me this was life changing. I hope you can think of something that will work for you. We all need some ME time.

here, here to me time :toast:

try to figure something out that works for you Pam. When we women are in multiple care taker roles it take a ton out of us. I did not even realize it til' I went on my 1st trip away from home, by my self. Good god, I was like a kid in a candy store. I didnt know what to do 1st. I was in DC. So the choices were many. Let along just sitting in my hotel room by myself!!!! I remember thinking, should I read the paper, turn on the tv, read a book, take a bath, it went on and on. So deliciously alone.

Anyhow, Im realy digging yoga right now. See if you like that.
have a restful day.

Hi Hol,
Yes I know what you mean about the "what to do" when all of a sudden you have a chunk of time by yourself...I had that happen about 6 months ago and had about 5 hours to myself...I didn't know what to do first ! When I was single I loved doing whatever I wanted with no time attached or responsibilities to others ! Sometimes I think of those times fondly !

Oh girl, you're not falling apart, but you are losing parts of you! Youre down 12 pounds, that rocks!!!

I'm sorry to hear your having trouble at home - I'm in the midst of a divorce <sigh> and it's not easy -- even when I know I am better off. Keep your chin up and do all you can to stay focused, on track and on plan. I think staying on plan is helping my stress levels, to be honest. EVERY day I have something to celebrate and it makes a difference!! Feel free to PM me if you want to vent!! I likely know how ya feel!

BIG HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I'm sorry you are having a rough time....just keep putting one foot in front of the other, taking the next right action and things will turn out as best as they can. Take care of you.
