What a day...Now I'm mad ! :x
I really wanted more of a weight loss today and I'm trying to get over the disappointment of only a 2.5 loss...I guess I will increase the water today and try to mentally move on...I have so much to lose that I feel like it will take me forever...Do the MEdifast products that you choose to eat or drink effect how much you lose? For example, I choose to do only shakes...Will my loss increase if i mix uo the products and not just shakes??????

They may make a little difference, but you need to remember that you will be on this program for a long time and it's important to be satisfied. If you eat a variety of supplements and bars and have a sensible lean & green meal daily, you will more likely be more satisfied (and stick to it) than if you have only shakes. Medifast is designed to give us a variety of choices.

Don't be discouraged. You had a hospital adventure this week. Just consider the 2.5 a little start and this week you'll be on your way full program. Hang in there, give Medifast a chance to do it's magic.

Thank you Serendipity... I am grateful for this board as I can see how easy it would be to just throw the towel in...Fortunately, everyone here is so supportive that it makes you challenged to go on ! I will just put it behind me and be grateful for the small loss...

Which bars do you find as tasty??

My favorites are the chocolate mint, oatmeal raisin, lemon, and chocolate. That doesn't leave many out, does it? I don't like the granola type or the fruit and nut.

I had a bar every day I was on program and lost 146 pounds. It was my daily treat and I really do think they kept me in line. I still have a bar a day. They seem to be enough (on most days) to keep me away from junk.

I just wanted to add a little something. I know this may not be true for everyone but it is true for many. There will be times when you gain a pound or so for no reason or water retention from TOM or salt. There may be weeks when you lose nothing at all even though you have been perfectly compliant. Just be prepared mentally and know that if you are in this for the long haul, those are just blips on the screen. Have patience, remain compliant and the scale will move. Also look for NSV's or non-scale victories. Clothes fitting better, going to a lower size, compliments from others. It will happen for you.

I think I'll order some and mix up my plan a little...I had originally thought that the shakes would be the easiest, and most efficient, but like you said...I'm in it for the long haul ! Are you at goal? Has you feelings about food changed since when you first started?

Just Wondered...

Good suggestions Biki...I think once I get back to my job as a school psychologist next week, I'll have less to think about things...My days are pretty busy and I usualy just mix up shakes in the morning and take them wherever i am going, in a cooler....

Yes, I've been at or near my goal since last December. My thinking has changed a great deal. I don't eat fried foods and they just gross me out. I haven't eaten or wanted donuts or pasta. I've had pizza only once in almost 2 years and probably won't have it again for a long time. It just wasn't that good and I know it's not good for me. I do still have weak moments and times when I just want to pig out, but I work on that daily because I want nothing as much as I want to stay thin.

A few weeks ago, hulagirl posted that she was posting stickers on her calendar as rewards for staying compliant. It has just caught on and everybody is buying stickers and calendars. You can get carried away with reward stickers......for compliance, exercise, drinking all of your water, etc......you can plaster those suckers up there and see just how you are progressing. Seems like a small thing, but imagine a day without any stickers! Too sad!

ps: Some of us have better taste in stickers than others, hehe.

I use one type of sticker for compliance and a different type for weightloss. Since weightloss hasn't happened for me everyday no matter that I am compliant, the compliance stickers guarantee I will get a sticker everyday I am compliant. That way if I don't get at least one sticker I have no one to blame but me.

It is working very well so far and I love seeing 9 days of compliance stickers and 7 days of weightloss stickers on my calendar everytime I go through the kitchen!

Hi Katesmom,

Hang in there for the long haul. I lost a lot the first two weeks and then it slowed down. I have reached myt 20# mark, but my loss is slowing. That is ok because it all adds up. I am hoping for 10 lbs a month, if it is more, great. If it is less, that is great also.

Just do it day by day and the plan will work. :cheermed:
