Marcelle - It is so very sad how truly sick some people can be. I AM SOOOOO PROUD OF YOU FOR TELLING HER OFF !!!!!! And what an amazing job you did with the evil fountain !! I am just sorry you had to see the ugliness in her. How very sad. You will break your plateau and then some. The people who love you will be happy for you - I know we all are !!!! YOU ROCK ! Great job and ah thanks for the tip about the Crystal Light :D . Oh and PS: I believe what was going on with your gym pal is something that is called difussion of responsibility - she wanted you to eat so she could give herself permission to do the same - or not feel bad about herself b/c she did eat. It is the same with drug addicts and alcoholics - no one wants to be with the designated drivers. Many of us had buddies and family members we would act out with around food - go out and eat with - give each other permission to cheat with. And those people are the ones who will struggle with our weigthloss the most. It ain't pretty but now you know you can handle it AND HOW !!!!Mytime

Marcelle ~

I am so proud of you for not dipping the tippy of your tongue into the  fountain. Some time in the future you may take a dip, if you want to - you just may find that you no longer need to - today you made it through the day with no damage to your hips. That is a very empowering feeling, isn't it?

When I have people push me or urge me to eat some thing I have already declined, I sometimes just say, "Oh, well...no, no thank you, not just now - maybe in a little while." Sometimes that works to get them to go away because they think I will have it, just later.

I have had some that definitely were going in for the kill, trying to do me in and I just say to them, "Why? Why would you want me to have something that is detrimental to my health?" Then I just raise my eyebrow and look'em straight in the eyeball. I don't back down.

You did a great job today! Pickles for a chocolate fountain - what a trade, eh? health and happy hips wins!

Good morning all! Thank you for the encouragement. I appreciate it very much.

Mytime, it's funny you say that, because she's a self professed "chocoholic" and eats it all day long! I remember doing that "it's okay" thing, before I got sober too...nothing changes huh!

Nancy - normally I don't have to be so rude to get my point across, but I am not letting anything or anyone get in my way - not even me! LOL

A question for you Nancy, I want to order some different items than were in my starter kit. There's a flavor I don't care for and I'd like to get enough Oatmeal and bars for the month. How does the discount work?

Thanks all!

Hi, Marcelle ~

There are times that some flavors or textures may not be our favorite and usually there are ways to make them work so that they are palatable.

When I first got started, I really did not care for the French Vanilla Shake whatsoever. I could not throw them away and we did not have our MakeMeThinner Medifast Forum to swap with other people. I just mixed a Dutch Choc and a French Vanilla together and used them as a now and later - drank half now; the other half later. That helped me to use up some of them. I mixed some with Diet Root Beer and make a float. I added sugar-free Kool Aid or Crystal Light to them and it when they were FINALLY gone, I just didn't reorder them again.

Sherri is your Health Advisor and she can help you with your order and help you to figure out a way to use your packets, too.

Thanks Nancy! That's what I'm having the problem with too. I don't want to waste them either.

I will play with them this weekend and try your suggestions and let you know how it's going.

Thanks for the ideas. I have tried some of the other ideas from the recipes, but as of yet have not found anything that I really like.

I'm trying to use the Vanilla first, because I don't care for them and want to get them out of the way.

What about un-sweetened cocoa powder? There are 20 cal in TBSP and 3 grams of carbs and 0 on everything else. Can I use that to modify my vanilla shakes? I don't think I'd need more than a tsp or so to get through the taste.

I didn't want to use anything that wasn't on the MF program. I know that other people have mentioned using other things as long as they are under a certain amount of cals and carbs, but I couldn't remember what that was.

Sherri - thanks for emailing me and helping me out. Even though I had read the posts here and had printed out a lot of info, I still completely forgot about the syrups etc. duh!

Needless to say, I ordered a few of the SF syrups from the website and we'll see if they can make the vanilla shakes a little more palatable for me.

Marcelle - I am right there with you on the Vanilla - and most are - but I tell you what the syrup makes all of the difference in the world and if you have Smart and Final in your kneck of the woods my coffee house person told me they sell them OTC for like 3.99 per bottle. Mytime

Happy Sunday! I'm sorry I was out of sight yesterday. My ISP was down for some reason, but I'm still here and I stayed on program!

I also tried the soup and really like that too. I am excited about my progress this week.

Thanks for the support all on my first week.
