AFter the "performance" at the Fair this evening one of my friends convinced me to enter the nightly karaoke contest. To make a long story short...I won. So now I get to sing at the Finals on July 8th. First prize is a cruise to Ensenada, Mexico. Not exactly, a trip to Hawaii, which was last year's prize, but still a cruise is a cruise.

This is the first contest I've ever won singing and I think that I owe part of my success to Medifast. Before, when I sang, I tended to have a stangle hold on the mic and not move on stage. Since dropping the 60 pounds, I really do feel a lot lighter and surer on my feet and was able to project a little stage presence and movement (plus, a moving target IS harder to hit...) and was really able to get into the song more.

I'll let you know how the finals went in a couple of weeks.
