Thank you for sharing your journey with us. These journals are wonderful places to examine ourselves and find out what makes us tick - not just in weight issues. I can relate to people calling you fat when you are younger and then looking back at the pictures and noticing that you weren't fat - I think I just grew into being fat because I was always told I was fat. Again, thank you for sharing and congratulations on the weight loss. :D

Thanks, Lara and Sue,

I don't think this whole MF thing would be going so smoothly without the support of this forum. :goteam: And if something I write makes your trip a little easier, I am honored. :)

I agree that for a lot of us, the weight is only one issue we need to own(as Dr. Phil would say) and address. I write and I find myself questioning why anyone would want to read my stuff. Sometimes I feel like I am floundering without true direction. I have an incomplete Juvenile novel and an incomplete adult novel (no not gutter stuff.) I also feel pulled to write a book based on my parents' experiences, which will be difficult because they had so much to overcome. My brother who is seven years older than I and remembers more, won't talk about our childhood. Particularly his life before Mom married Dad. I believe when I find the right direction, it will be easier. Or, maybe I just need to set my butt in the chair and write.

It's late and I think I've caught up on all the posts, so I'm going to hit the sack. I truly hope I don't wake as early as I did this morning. Come on MF Fairy, visit me tonight.

Night all.

Did she come? Did she come? Did the MF fairy come and visit you :?:

I HOPE SO! At least that would explain whey she wasn't at my house!! Come to think of it, she must have picked up what you gave her and brought it to my house! :x Stop giving her presents for me, Joanna! ;)

Just kiddin'! Hope you had a good day today. Mine was okay. Just okay. Hard day at work today. Some days I'm better than others at not picking up the patients' agendas and I just felt sad for the sister of one of my sickest patients today. She (the patient) was in a coma and I heard her sister talking to her as I walk by several times and it just sort of put things in perspective, you know? And I started out a little grouchy from a gain of several ounces last night according to my scale. Hey, maybe I'll just get a new scale... Yeah, that's it! It's the scale! I should have though of that earlier! :dooh:

Ha!

Hi, Lara.

No, she missed me last night, too. But today I found out something interesting. I had my meeting with my nutritionist and she let me know the grain I'm supposed to eat with my L&G was to keep me OUT of ketosis! Here I am, waiting for it to kick in and I find out I'm basically on a reduced calorie diet without the ketosis kick. :x

Since I am doing the weekly liver panels, she's agreed to let me skip the extra grain for the next couple of weeks. But, if anything shows up in the panels, I have to add it back in again.

So, here's to ketosis and the MF fairy. :D

Hey! That sounds like good new to me!! Yea for you! I hope this makes the difference for you and the drops come soon. Yet another morning with no change on the scale for me, but some of my clothes are fitting me a little differently, so I really am starting to question my scale a little. Anways, glad for your good news about the grains and here's hoping along with you!! GO JOANNA!!

Thanks Lara and Biki,

I the MF Fairy has been standing on the scale with me  I went up a bit, but I think I'm coming back down. Hope, hope, hope.

It's hard trying to figure out my starting weight - should I go by the scale at the doctor's office or my scale at home. Also, like many, I weigh less when I jump out of bed and seem to creep up as the day goes on by as much as two pounds. So when I hit the doc's, it's up from the morning anyway. :? :?

What do I do? Don't know . . .

It certainly takes away from the excitement when you see what might be a drop and 10 minutes later it's either smaller or completely gone.

Oh, well, things should start moving a little faster without the grains. Does this mean I'll have another adjustment period?

BTW: Got a couple of boxes of the eggs from the doc's. I'm still learning to fix them, the first attempt came out gritty - just like you said, Nancy. However, this morning I used the whip feature on my blender and they came out nice and fluffy. Looked just like the "real" thangs. I don't quite have the taste down, yet, but I haven't given up on them - especially since they were "free."

Which ever scale you use, use it consisitantly, but remember you are most likely to weigh the least first thing in the morning after you go to the bathroom. If you don't have one, I would get a scale.

'Okay, now don' t turn into a scale jumkie, and weigh every two hours. It will kill you. Weigh first thing and record that weight. It is scary with water consumption how high our weights can get during the day. I weighed in at 188 this morning and yesterday I got up to 196, of course fully dressed in warm clothes not my undies...

Thanks, Biki.

I still think, at least for this week since I wasn't fully on the MF program bc of the extra grain, I need to forget about the scale for a few days.

It's not just the scale that's bugging me (of course it never really is) I'm looking for part-time accounting work that pays more than minimum wage and it's a strange world out there.

I went in for an interview for Bookkeeper and they interviewed for a data entry clerk (with a corresponding drop in pay scale) I should have turned around as soon as I walked in and saw the walls covered with trophy heads - from your usual deer to birds to buffalo to a giraffe! And let's not forget the glass case with the polar bear.

And when I say walls, I mean every wall - there had to have been at least 80 heads in the front room alone.

I guess the one that still gets to me is the CPA firm advertising for an Accountant and wanting to pay $8 an hour. I told 'em I hadn't made that amount for over twenty years.

Here's to job hunting :toast:
