Hello,

I am new here :) . I have gained lot of weight during my 2 pregnancies.

I have done MF for about 10 days (lost 9 pounds) and took a 6 day break :( and am seriously starting back MF'ing again today. I wanted motivation and found this site to be real friendly and motivational.

Right now I am on 5 -1 plan. 5 shakes and one L& G meal. It was hard to take 5 shakes a day. Does any of the MF seniors out there know if I can substitute 4 shakes for a soup, bar, pudding, oatmeal and still loose the same amount of weight?

My stats...30 year old....5'6" 210. I want to get to 135 (which is my healthy weight).

Hope to give and get some motivation during this weight-loss journey.

Thanks
Soni

Hey there girl! I have the same story and height and close weight as you (just had 2nd baby he's 5 months old now), except I've never been 135 in my life LOL. The lowest I was was 140 and I know I was wearing a size 9 (which would most likely be a 7 or 6 nowadays cause of the sizing difference lately) then so that's fine by me. I don't desire to get down that low, I like having some meat on me bones!

A big welcome to you! It's always nice to see someone with similar stats to compare to. ;) I've been on MF for a week and I've lost 5 lbs already and it's that TOM so I at least lost 1 lb of real weight so far. I don't know if I'm still retaining water, probably am.

Just get past those first few days *without cheating* and the hunger and cravings pass! That's how it was for me. It's tough, but just keep telling yourself Nancy's motto: Nothing tastes as good as thin feels, and that this will pass.

Now since I'm past it I feel so great and I have no problems with wanting to eat anything but MF food. I *WILL* lose weight, I didn't pay $275 for nothing! ;)

We're all here for you, this is the best group of people around! If you find yourself unsure or feeling tempted just hop on these forums and someone will help you out of it!

Again, welcome.

edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to answer your question: you don't have to drink *any* shakes now if you don't want to. You can mix them up and eat/drink whatever you like, except only allowed one bar a day. :)

You absolutely can mix it up! The only stipulation is that you can only have one bar per day as one of your meal replacments - preferably mid afternoon - not first thing nor last thing at night. I believe it is because it is the highest in calories and carbs (but don't quote me on that - I'm sure a more knowledgeable person will respond).

Bottom line - mix it up sweetie!!! Soups, shakes, puddings, oatmeal, bars - and then your L&G. You'll be dropping that weight before you know it. :goodluck:

Oh and drink lots of water - it is very important (get used to going to the bathroom a lot - HA!)
:water:

Come here often for support - it is a great board. :stroll:

Also, check out the Lean Cuisine section for recipe ideas. :chef:

Happy Medifasting!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. It surely helps to know that I have friends in this journey. :D

Thanks for answering my questions as well. It gave me hope that I can try various other MF products and still have the same kind of weight loss.

Pastha...it is nice to know that you have the same stats as me. If you don't mind, perhaps, we could set a day of the week and compare our results....something to motivate both of us. What do you say? If you are not up for it, I completely understand.

Could someone tell me how I could add the ticker to my messages?
Soni

Well actually there is a roll call every sunday and we are supposed to post our weight at that time. Plus if you have the ticker then that's really easy to compare. ;) I started on a Monday though, but I will still weigh in for the roll call.

To add a ticker to your signature, go to www dot tickerfactory dot com (like above my ticker), make one up, then at the last page where it shows the ticker when you are done, just select the text in the first box and right click, then choose copy. Then go into your profile here and in the signature part you can right click and choose paste, and that's it for the ticker! You can put the rest of your stats in your signature above or below the ticker.

If you ever need anything, just pm me (that's private message if you didn't know.) The message box is up at the top of all the forum pages too.

Hi SONI,

So great having you join us on the forum...you'll find it inspiring, motivational and helpful.

By all means, mix up your meal replacements. (Experiment!) Mine goes something like this:

Hot shake drink/with coffee mixed in.
Oatmeal
Soups (I love them all, chili included!)
Bar (addicted to them)
L & G (try to have the same LEAN as DH)
Oatmeal cookies w/decaf

(Everybody has a different order of things, but this is mine for now. DRINK WATER!)

You did great to lose the 9 pounds...now you can start back with a 'passion' to lose it all by being compliant and following your Quick Start booklet to the letter.

Won't be long until you are giving us motivation during our weight loss journey.

Shake it up, SONI, We're right there with you, :yay: :yay:
