Instructions for food prep

Postby Seemelose » June 8th, 2006, 7:07 am

Hi,
When my products arrived I divided them into baggies enough (5) for each day. I thought I had read all the instructions and even copied the instructions for the chili and the pudding as they seamed a little more involved. I then threw the boxes away. Then this morning I was reading a post were people were talking about cooking the soups in the microwave. I have just been stirring them into heated water. It was OK until last night when I had the Cream of Tomato soup in a restraunt. the water that they brought was not very hot and the soup was kind of chalky. Anyway I was wondering if I should really be coolking the soups in the microwave. Today is day five for me and Im loving it.

I always cook my soups on the stove. If what you are doing is working for you then it is fine. I have never cooked mine in the micorwave but just because I have read over and over about spillage and I am too lazy to clean the microwave.

Thanks,Sharon

Actually I have lost 76 since Jan 15th the other 14 I lost before MF on my own.

My ticker reflects my highest weight which was back in Nov of 2005

I am still very happy with 76 pounds in less than 5 months though!

Hi there!

I'm not totally sure but I think the instructions for prep are available on the medifast website? I usually do my soups with HOT water and stir, chili and minestrone to sit for a while (not a fan of crunchy beans) and oatmeal on the stove.

Hope that helps a little?

Good work!

It's a good habit to cut the mixing instructions off the box and slip it in the bag with your packages....

Especially when traveling, so you can convince the authorities you're not a drug dealer....:)

Hey Sharon, if you will let me know which products you need instructions to I can copy my box and e-mail them to you. You can also get the stove top and microwave directions from the medifast site. :eat:

Hi All,
Thanks for all the help.
Elctra000, Thank you for offering to email the instructions but I think I have enough info now that all of you have posted.
Tim, I will be taking product with me on a trip to Vegas next week. I hope they don't confiscate it. Ha ha
Thanks again everyone,
Sharon

Hi and welcome! I just wanted to let you know that if you go to the main medifast site there is a downloads section. Within that section you'll find a document with both stovetop and microwave mixing directions in it. When it comes down to it, we all make little tweaks so that the stuff is more how we like it, but the directions are very useful to have around when you are first starting out :)

I find the soups a little chalky, too. So, I have been mixing my soup with just enough water to make a paste. This gets the powder all gooey. I have plastic containers with lids--I put them in the fridge. Then, when I get ready for soup, I just get one out, add hot water, stir and VOILLA!! It is good, not chalky at all, and I don't have to use the stove or the micro. I also add a little onion powder, some Mrs. Dash, and some molly mc butter to my soups to give them some added flavor.
