My husband bought pizza!

Postby kimberlee » August 10th, 2005, 8:12 pm

One week into the MF program and my loving husband brings home a huge box of leftover pizza. Oh, the agony. I can't toss it because my children want it. I realized the only way to save myself is to have my husband rub the pizza with pepperoni. I am a vegetarian and won't touch the stuff. Now, if I could only get him to put pepperoni in the ice cream and wine.

WOW - great job problem solving !!!! He should have a lot of time to rub it around the other things in the kitchen what with sleeping on the couch and all :) Mytime

Pizza

Postby Jan » August 10th, 2005, 10:08 pm

Oh My,
Pizza -- that is one of our most tempting things. He probably just fell victim to old habits and really wasn't thinking. I bet he was thinking he was doing you a favor -- brought home dinner. Oh well, I'm glad you're a vegetarian and could rub it with pepperoni. My hubby who happens to be tall and skinny eats yummy things -- at least they smell yummy - right in front of me. I guess that is one of the things we need to learn/accept. Some can eat and some can't. It's just the way we are made. I might share that I love to garden and one day must husband told me (with great pride I might add) that he had helped me and put the left over weed and feed on my garden. :x Rubbing pepperoni on it would'nt have helped -- neither did giving it a good washing with water
They really don't mean to cause these problems for us.

Oh wow! That must have been tough! Good for you for getting past it!

We have a rule in my house, if my husband wants something, (as a snack usually, at night, that's usually my tough time) that might bother me he asks me first how I am feeling at that particular moment. There are some days nothing will phase me and some days I can't handle it. So, if it's a day I can't handle it, I just tell him, nope, sorry, not in front of me please or get it out of the house. That way we don't wind up with any mishaps. BUT, every so often he just forgets himself and comes strolling into the living room with something and I give him the evil eye and he knows to go somewhere else with it.

Way to go! You must be very strong to resist pizza. I told my husband at the beginning that I didn't mind him eating most things in front of me, but pizza was forbidden!

Hahahah....that is really funny Kimberlee....I have a picture in my mind of wine with a slice of pepperoni in it...I will be thinking of that this weekend at my hubbys class reunion...it will be a challenge and that might help. I made pizza soup when my kids ordered a pizza...Chicken noodle soup, add some diced tomatoes with oregano, a dash of KC Masterpeice seasoning, some green onions, mmmmm....got me through.

Buffy,

That Pizza soup sounds yummy. Pizza flavor without the grease and indigestion. I love pizza, but I was always miserable when I ate it. This past weekend my inlaws ordered pizza while we were there, it smelled so good I just sat outside in the pool while they ate. When I did go in I saw the box and the pool of grease sitting there and was soo glad I stayed away. I will have to remember that soup recipie and try it next time I crave some pizza.

GREAT Job on dealing with the PIZZA.. I too got a big laugh out of the wine and the ice cream with the pepporoni.. Pizza doesn't bother me..I had problems with it not long before I started this program.. I have acid reflux and had to give it up a while back.. I have hard times passing up other goodies.. ..Have a great week--Martha
