Thank you Tawanda! My hubby and I had a discussion about how we can aleviate (sp?) this situation. He had mentioned that his cousin had just started a senior center where they have exercise classes, social activities, etc. They are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It is free of charge and 2 breakfast and lunch. This sounds really great. I am hoping my mom will like this. She is a very proud woman and doesn't see herself as the "Senior Citizen" type, but I'm sure she'll like it.

I've been walking in the morning after dropping off the kids before hubby goes to work, two days now. It feels great and relieves some stress, and helping to boost my screwed up metabolism after falling off the wagon.
I've been totally compliant and binge & purge free for 3 days.... Yay! it feels good. I'm taking it one day at a time, and sometimes one hour at a time.

I am glad that you have found a place to help you care for your mom. Sure we all want to think we can be super women and take care of the world, but right now you are trying to take care of you. Being able to allow yourself some time from the stress of being a caretaker is a good thing.

Congrats on your 3 days B&P free. Remember - I am online all the time. Anytime you get that urge please try to reach me first. Maybe I can talk you though it.

Good for you on the 3 days and on the walking. Hopefully ketosis will kick in soon, if it hasn't already, which should make sticking with program easier. The walking is excellent and proactive (I need to do that, too).

Positive steps will get you to goal.........you are taking positive steps.

I'm still here and still alive, and doing pretty good. I've been losing alot of inches and not that much scale weight. I think I'm doing too much cardio... power walking for 1 hour with my hubby every morning... so the scale is not really moving. I guess it's a trade off. I feel much better because the walking is a huge stress reliever for me, so I can handle the homelife(i.e. my mom's situation) much better. I guess I could cut back on the walking or maybe I need to add a supp. because my body is holding on to the fat or something. I know I need to drink way more water too.

Other than that, you all are doing great and I'm proud of you. You all inspire me to keep going! I've been lurking but not having much time to post. So just know I'm still here!

I am glad that you have been able to find a time to get away and do something for you (power walking). Your body may be letting go of the fat and gaining lean muscle so your scale won't move. If you are losing inches you are on the right track. Dr Anderson has said on the doctor's call many times that it is OK to have an occasional extra shake if you think you need it. Try to get in that water. I know we are told at least 64 ounces, but I also read somewhere that you should divide your weight in half and drink that many ounces of water a day. For me that means 133 ounces of water - sometimes I think I am going to float away.

Anyway, hang in there and keep on keeping on.

In the longterm, for it's physical and mental health benefits, I would say stick to the walking or reduce it slightly if you have to. Call one of the specialists at Medifast and see what they have to say once they know all the facts. That's what I did before I went up to 3 miles walking. We have some of the same issues and I can tell you that daily exercise has definitely helped me refocus. Good luck!

Thanks for checking in on me Rodeo, Mike and Biki!

Thank you for the tips and encouragement!

I've been doing well for the past few weeks. I cut down on the walking to 1/2 hour every other day. It seems to be working. I put my scale away so it doesn't become a source of obsession, depression, etc. I've been measuring my loss by the fit of my clothes, and so far my jeans are beginning to get looser so something is happening! :yippee:

On another note, I took my Mom in for her follow up appt. with the neurologist. She said that they will leave the tumor and not operate since it is benign, and if operated on, their is a 70% chance of my Mom losing her hearing. They will keep an eye on it via MRI every 6 months.
She was also perscribed a different medication for the dementia so I am optimistic that her condition will stablize and not deteriorate as quickly.

Keeping myself busy with cleaning projects around the house and staying active has given me a better outlook on things.

Yes, life is good....and is getting better!

Keep shakin' everyone! :yeah:
