Just curious Hulagirl, what is the price of gas in HI?
Here for regular it is $2.26....but I guess if I was in Hawaii I wouldn't worry about the price of gas...HMMM, I wonder what it is on Maui :)

Hey ladyhawk!

Gas as of today is $2.89 for regular here on Oahu, so Maui should be well over $3.00 a gallon. Yeah, pretty outrageous. Our legislators voted against a gas cap.....lame. If we had one, we would be a little closer to the national average. :|

Thanks for all of your encouragement ladies! You are the best! :goteam:

A bad, bad day today so far, and it's only 11:38am. This is the first time since August that I've come close to the edge and gone back to my old ways. For those of you who don't know, my history with food been very, very unhealthy. Because of the MF plan, I've been able to break free (see my journal first post for details). It's just been a very frustrating day in my home, and I don't know what to do.

My mother has been unruly and refuses to help herself get better. I am trying to encourage her to let me sign her up for some activities or find somewhere she can volunteer so she's not wasting her life away. All she does all day is wander around the house, water the plants outside 5 times a day( our water bill is now over $300/mo.) hoard all of our belongings in her room and scold my kids the minute they walk in the door from school. She is a healthy and capable woman aside from her short term memory loss. She is just letting her mind rot even more by not wanting to be social and being a recluse. She thinks I'm trying to get rid of her when I suggest that we find things for her to do. My relationship with food and the relationship with my mother go hand in hand, and has been that way since I was a young girl. Very, very unhealthy.

I have to get a grip on this. I refuse to let her dictate my feelings and my weight yet again. Not since I've come so far. :x

I don't know what to say except that I am very sorry and that I know you are very strong. I hope you can find some help and resolution soon for these issues with your mother. Please take care of yourself.

Thanks again Biki!

I feel much better today. My hubby took me out last night for a late dinner and movie. I made it a night and ate whatever I wanted, and he was totally shocked. He has only seen me eat L&G's so he didn't know what to say when I ordered a pastrami sandwich and fries. I ate almost the whole thing and half the fries. At the movies I had a diet coke and my mint bar that I carry in my purse. I didn't even feel guilty about eating it, but I didn't really enjoy it either.

I am paying for it today. But I guess I just wanted to wallow in my misery for one whole day, so I could start fresh today. Of course today is tough because I have to get back into ketosis again. But no biggie. Today is a brand new day and a chance to start with a new attitude.

By the way, if you haven't seen "Freedom Writers", go see it tonight!!!What a great movie! That movie touched my heart. I'm taking my boys to see it tonight! A must see for everyone, especially teenagers and their parents.

I'm still shakin! :yeah:

Lessons learned while being out of ketosis:

1. I don't ever want to do that again, until I reach my goal and go on maintainance. I felt awful after eating whatever I wanted. I had a bad tummy ache, and a headache. I could actually feel my blood sugar rise.

2. I hate having to get back into ketosis. The first 3 days is hell. It's been so long since I had to to this,I forgot how hungry I can get, and how hard it is to stay on plan when you are craving things with sugar and white flourl

3. It made me realize that I love the MF food, just for the fact it makes me feel good and healthy. Even when I reach my goal, I will always have MF food there to replace unhealthy snacks and have the convience of the food, which I love.

4. I have a long way to go in my journey to overcome my bad relationship with food. I need to strengthen myself and resolve food issues so I won't use MF as a crutch when I reach my goal, and I won't go wild and go back to all my old habits.

5. I made a new resolve to get to my goal weight. This was a hard but great learning experience for me. I know it will just strengthen my committment to reach my goal.

I know what you mean!

When I was off, I learned to appreciate being on. Yes, it's frustrating sometimes, but I just feel good! Level, solid, no mood swings, no sugar crashes, just good!

I loved reading your post!

Thank you Dede! I learned that even on this looooong plateau, I feel great, and look good. I wear a size 4 jeans and small shirt, So I really don't have anything to complain about. I just want to see that scale move to the 120's.

Yes Beth, I'm still at 132. I fluctuate within 3 pounds heavier or lighter during the week, but it doesn't seem to stay down for more than a few days. So I leave the ticker at 132. I won't change it until I can stay at 130 or below for a week or more. My body just doesn't seem to want to give up the fat. And I still have a little more to get rid of around my middle.

I've been compliant 98% of the time since I started, and this is the first time I totally went off plan for more than a meal or a small taste of something. I went 2 days completely off,and I felt horrible. But maybe that's what I needed to shock my system so I can start losing again.

I also think I need to increase my exercise level and add a little more weight training. I'll be doing that this week.

Hopefully I'll see some results!

I'm back online after having computer problems. My computer shut down because virses and spyware contracted by my kids going on "lime wire" to download songs and videos to their mp3 players. Luckily we have a great friend who helped us get back up and running!

Gotta catch up to all the posts!

Those darn kids!!! :x I had the same problem with spyware stuff my son picked up from My Space. Why do people create things with the purpose of destroying other's property. What wasted intelligence.

Anyway, glad you're back.
