Hey there, Hula! :)

The whole sizing thing is wonky because the clothing manufacturers are always renaming the sizes to make the "average" woman a size 12. And, well, the average woman is getting larger.

So, that is why you'll keep seeing women saying "I don't get it, I wore an 8 ten years ago and it was perfect but now it's too big!"

Yep, it's all about the vanity sizing. The dumb "sizes" don't really tell anyone anything since they are always in flux. Of course all us chicas know that even between makers (or in a maker's line!) a size 8 can vary in its actual dimensions.

Geez, why can't we just do inches like the guys!?

When I was in college in 1989, I squeezed into a tight pair of Calvin Kleins. I was probably 150 pounds then. In 2001, I again got into a 10 but in a different brand of jeans, Liz Claiborne I think, but my weight was 165-170! Dang it. I still took the size sticker strip and saved it on my cork board for a long time hehehe! Even if you are aware of it, vanity sizing has power

Yup Sarah. You are right! The size thing really does mess me up a little.

I'm going to keep my goal at 120 for now and see what it's like as a lose. I want to be securly(sp?) into the 120's so I know my BMI will be at a healthy place.

I totally agree with BerkshireGrl re: the vanity sizing and sizes being made bigger than they used to be years ago. It is definitely true. Ex. a size 8 today is made much larger than a size 8 ten yrs. ago. Kanani I also agree with you about being the same size at a higher weight. About 4 1/2 months after I had my twins I weighed 133 lbs. had a 26 inch waist, I'm 5'7 1/4" to be exact and I wore a size 4. Everyone thought I looked like a size 2 or 0 but I really wasn't so you never know. I think it depends on how much muscle mass you carry as opposed to fat. You'll definitely weigh more, but take a smaller size if you have more muscle mass. When I go shopping it seems to me that the jeans are being made bigger but with a smaller tag size, but the tops are being made smaller. The tops are being made so that they don't cover the whole stomach area anymore. Either way you look great! :D

Thanks kmr!

I did great yesterday. Lost some water weight I gained during TOM. I did better on my portion size for my L&G so I'm right on track. Had a slight headache though, so I'm gonna tank the water even more today.

It's great to see so many people posting on the forum. Welcome back to everyone returning, and welcome to all the newbies. Even though many of us have had some setbacks, we are allowed to dust ourselves off and continue along our exciting MF journey. We are going to have an awesome 2007!!! Let's shake it up everyone! :goteam:

That's right Stormy! Still going strong! I've been maintaining my weight through the holidays and now am in weightloss mode. I had to go through ketosis again since I had nibbles and tastes during our trip to Kauai, a wedding and New Years. Good thing is I didn't gain any, but I must lose these last 12 pounds ASAP!

You are doing great Beth! You are totally focused and going full speed! Congratulations on your big loss this past week! You are awesome!

If I don't get my butt in gear, your gonna pass me up, girl!!! :deadhorse:

Let's do this!!!! :whip:

Thanks Debra!!!

I did stay on track at Chilli's, Yay! I'm still on track. But my body is still holding on to the last few pounds for dear life. The last time this happened, I did 2 days of all MF and it helped me get through the plateau. I might need to do that again. :|
