Aloha Holberry!

Yes, the wedding that is looming keeps me on track, and also.... Biki keeps me on track! She gonna pass me by if I don't watch out! Did you see her pictures? Now that's motivation!

I love the NW... so beautiful and so different from Hawaii.

I'm a very happy girl!

I didn't feel bloated but all my measurements went up .5 to an inch the day before TOM. I didin't know it was TOM time so I was perplexed!

Maybe it's the soy in the supplements that aleviate (sp?) the symptoms. I didn't take my measurements. Maybe I should next time. Whetever it is, I love not feeling like an overfilled water balloon that's ready to burst. :yippee:

You know what, I just thought that maybe the less bloating is due to the fact that we CAN'T stuff ourselves with the carbs we crave that cause most of the bloating! ;)

 Hey HulaLula ~

We are :sheepjump: happy that you will be celebrating your Bestest Friend’s wedding day by her side and we trust that you will be enjoying maintenance.
Those Nine Pounds can be off in no time and you can be through all the steps of transition if ya stick to the program, Girl!

Those little  lickies of poi, slices of Portuguese  Sweet Bread, Poke :poke: Pupus, hunks of kalua :pigsfly: pig and long :beerbeer: sips of Mai Tais merely slow the process and keep us from enjoying slender :ukulele: hips and avoiding spaghetti strap, sleeveless arm flappage…

You can do it – TOM is something that comes around well, monthly…during the thinnin’ process, we need to  focus on ways to deal with the :whip: agitation, internal feelings of :hammerhead1: wonkiness, etc. in healthful ways that will carry over into our lives for long-term weight control. We don’t want the men folk to have to spend a week a month in the garage messin’ around trying to :couch: avoid us when the  crankies arrive.

Avoiding processed foods as much as possible, choosing fresh veggies (and once the thinnin’s over and we are on maintenance, a couple of servings of fruit a day), lean protein, :water: plenty of water and keeping active, the bloating for most seems not as severe as before. :secret: I must qualify my statement here as I have been surgically altered…I no longer have an excuse for being :stickwack: cranky…but I DO recall the bloatage – heck, before I had a hyster, I looked like I was about 7 months along….`aka `aka

Sending you :rose: leis.
With :ukulele: fond aloha,

Oh, Nancy! You're the best! You always have the right thing to say that will lead me in the right direction.

I don't know what it is. I know that I only have around 8 weeks to get myself in tiptop shape, and you are right on where the little tastes and lickies are concerned.

I have to get myself back and focus!! I have been letting the stressful situations in my life get to my head, and ultimately give in to emotional eating.

I love what Biki said in her journal.... "there is nothing I want to eat more than I want to be on this progam." Thanks Biki!

Nuff said... that will be my mind set from now on! :whip:

Love you Nancy! Sending you lots of Aloha... and many mahalo's for keeping me in line!

Dear Kanani ~

I know how :x hard it is to look at all those  lovely-looking (but ) foods,
to smell the rich buttery aroma or the fruity stuff just makes the saliva flow and at the  time it seems that just one bite or a small serving won't :brickwall: hurt.

And that is true. If it is just that  one bite or a :eat: small serving here and there i
t most likely won't hurt but for some of us (me!),

those little  lickies can delay the success factor and some can get so off-track they never get back on track. :treadjog:

Get to your goal. :trophy:

There will be many more foody opportunities and stressful events to come...
learn how to manage that :redhead: stress in non-foody ways now.

Some non-foody ways: :dancinguy: :runner: :biker: :water: :stroll: :redprowl: :soccergirl: :goofyjump: :easyrider: :puter: (and for Biki :smoke: Just Kidding...)

Food = fuel; it is not the :pet: salve that heals stress;

it is not krypton that :deadhorse: repels the :lightsword: powers that come against us.

You :you: are beautiful - inside and out.

You are  worthy of the best life has to offer.

Let's not sacrifice the :sheepjump: euphoria of successful healthy living
for trans fats, artificial colors, heart- and artery-cloggin’ grub – go for the goal!

Mentally see yourself in that beautiful dress NOW

and shake those hula :ukulele: hips!

I don't know how else to thank you but to reach my goal! You are the ultimate HA, and I'm lucky to have found you!

We'll be waiting to see you in the wedding pictures.

:secret: Kanani, you are so beautiful...the bride may want you to wear a bag over your face and body so you don't outshine her! ;)

More than anything, we want you to be at your healthiest best; that's the most important thing of all.

Shake those hula lula hips and let those lips touch nuthin' unwholesome or healthy! :ukulele:

Will do Nancy!

Yes, I have to remind myself of the other, more important reason I started MF. My cholestrol was 285 and I am prone to diabetes if I don't watch it because of gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy. As of now my cholestrol is under 200 and blood sugars are great. So I need to keep it that way. :whip:

If I slip back to my old ways, I will not only gain the fat back, I'll be unhealthy again. I WILL NOT GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!! :x

I hear you Nancy... :coach: Every 2 1/2 hours..... one shake at a time. :beerbeer:

Hey Jo! It is helping alot. I find myself going to certain artists or songs that will help change my mood. A little Earth Wind and Fire has been doing the trick lately. :headphones2: Thanks again for great advice. I'm glad I have teenagers that help me download and upload songs..... without them, I think the Ipod would still be in the box.
