Happy friday, fellow Medifasters! I hope things are going well for all of you today!
I wanted to take some time and do something I've been MEANING to do for awhile. My husband has been on the program with me from the start, but is not a member here, so any of his successes aren't known, other than in passing mention in my posts, so I wanted to document his journey here in hopes others may be encouraged on their own.
Hubby was very skeptical. After started, he got downright hard to live with. He want to know if he could "just" have two meals a day, "just" have a cheese omelette, or "just" give Medifast the old heave-ho and go on the Atkins diet.
Knowing that the fastest way to lose a man's focus is to make him think you're pushing him, I just kept telling him that it was up to him, and that I would be staying with Medifast regardless of his decision. I told him I'd be happy to cook what he needed for the Atkins diet, and that what was important to me was that he was healthy.
I hinted that it would be a shame to stop mid way through and reminded him of the great results he had been seeing on the scales.
He was still grumpy, but he stuck it out. When his pants began to loosen, he became a new man, attitude-wise.
He has been a bouncing bundle of light since the inches began to melt away. You'd laugh if you saw how GLEEFULLY he informs me that he is into the next-size-down pants. I love it for him and look forward to joining him in time!
He has said that he isn't sure when he will start maintenance. he has been waffling between the same three pounds for about a month now, and is wondering if this is his body's way of telling him he's where he needs to be. He is taking a wait and see approach. His results to day?
204 pounds, down from 263
34 (waist) pants, down from a 48!
I hope you guys can find some inspiration in this, for if my hubby, who is a born pessimist (though a very beloved one, don't get me wrong) can stick it out and muster through, ANYONE can do this!
