Hubby and wife Team try it together!

Postby shkov » October 2nd, 2005, 6:00 pm

This is very new for me. But we are going to give it a serious try together. My goal is to lose around 20 pounds and get back into size 6. Im currently wearing 12 and 14's.

My hubby however wishes to lose about 40 -50 pounds. I only hope our will powewr is greater and we dont give in. It is very hard at dinner time especially with 3 kids at the table eating all the good stuff.

We are open to any and all suggestions!

Well you have the best support network, your DH. If you can support each other as well as the board supports me, you will have no problem. I am only on day 3, but I am doing well!!!! Good luck, look at the recipe boards ( I think its called Lean Cuisine)......
Thanks for helping me through.......one shake at a time!!!!-Inga

shkov, I think you'll both find it easier than you think.

Remember...you get to have a real DINNER too! THe lean and green isn't like "diet food" at all. It's good protein and a nice vegetable. Serve what you're having for dinner to your kids, as well. To round out the meal for them, add some whole wheat pasta or some other starchy item that they enjoy. If that doesn't sound reasonable...(I don't have kids so I'm not sure...) read on.

One thing I do when I'm cooking the meat --let's say chicken for example. I use one pan to fry (Pam spray) up all servings of the chicken til done (seasoned how I like it). Then for the portion that is for my boyfriend who isn't Medifasting with me...I add some BBQ sauce and continue cooking or grilling (or whatever) til it's done. This works with many different recipes. Once you're out of that hunger zone (first few days) it won't bother you that others are eating things you aren't.

The best thing is after I saw that I lost my first chunk of weight using MF...I really didn't care what anyone else ate because finally something was WORKING for me.

You might have to be a bit creative but it's so worth the trouble.

p.s.

You and I have similar goals...in the 20 lb range. Sometimes when you have less to lose, your loss is slower. Don't get discouraged! This really does work. I lost 10 in 5 weeks.

Hello everyone....and special hello to you Shanna,

Shanna and her husband are my personal friends in Texas. They saw me this past weekend for my Dad's funeral and we talked pretty seriously about the program. I was however VERY amazed to you on here today and that you are starting the program!! I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!

I will be here for both of you and hope to help you both to succeed!!

All my love,
Christi

Shanna,

Call me when you get your order.......I want to talk with you about getting started and the first three days. Read on here as much as you possibly can........this site will make ALL the difference!! This is a FREE resource that will truly help you both succeed by educating you on the program. So many times just knowing that others felt the same way I do helped me to stay on track. And if I forget to say this, and I'm sure I won't........you CAN NOT CHEAT ON THIS PLAN! You have to really really really learn to say NO NO NO NO NO to ANYTHING that is NOT on medifast. It's not like other "diets" where you do good all week and have a "bread day" as a "reward" for doing well all week. The REWARD is seeing the scales move and move and move in the downward direction. And you MUST drink your water every day......no question about it! Like I said.....give me a call this weekend so I can really talk to you about it.

Have a great day,
Christi

Welcome! I am glad you found us. I know what you mean about dinner and the kids. It is hard to fix two different meals, and even harder to get the kids to want what you need to eat for dinner, especially when you want what they are having. Since we homeschool, all 5 of my kids are home for lunch also. Some days it is very hard to fight both battles.

Something that I have found helpful is to cook my food ahead of time. For example, when I cook my meal, I cook a lot at one time. Then I can freeze or refrigerate the extras. That way, my food is already prepared, saving me valuable time. For example, I love grilled chicken, pork and fish. I will grill several pounds worth at one time, and then toss in a ziploc bag. Some goes into the refrigerator to use that week, and the rest goes into the freezer for future weeks Throughout the week, I just pull out what I want, toss in the microwave with a vegetable, or I can just cut it up and add to a salad. I also know that the food is there waiting for me, so I'm not as tempted to eat something I shouldn't.

Anyway, that's what works for me...

I look forward to getting to know you.

Welcome! My darling husband is also MFing with me!!! He let me get a nice head start and saw how it was changing me, both physcially and emtionally and he said he would "give it 2 weeks to see if he could do it" and now it's 4 months later and he is continuing to MF with me. We do our lean & green at dinner and it helps us stay on track to have the same meals.

Good luck and welcome, this forum is the BEST place for information/support/friendship!
