How often do you weigh yourself?

Do you weigh in every day, once a week, not even that often?

My dh has always weighed himself every night before going to bed. I tell him he should do it in the morning and he seems to think it doesnt matter as long as it is the same time every day. I go thru spurts but I am trying so hard to not check all the time so I dont get disappointed if I am up or down, kwim? I have caved tho. I started Monday morning and have weighed myself every morning this week so far :oops:

so is it better to wait? What do all of you pros do?

I weigh in at 5:00 AM, then right before dinner, then right after dinner (that 7 ounces of protein can add a pound!) and then right before bed. YIKES.

I weigh myself every morning. I go to the bathroom, undress and exhale all the air out of my lungs. :lol: :oops:

It doesn't bother me if the scale goes up a day or so. I know weight goes up and down. What matters to me is on my official weigh in date (tuesdays) my weight is down from the following tuesday. (I also do weigh ins sunday - sunday for the roll call so the numbers may be different between the two weigh ins).

If it bothers you when the scale goes up I would only weigh in once a week.

It's not that easy. Stopping smoking was WAY easier than getting rid of the scale addiction!!!!!!! Maybe there is a patch for scale addiction?

I used to weigh every morning first thing, but haven't weighed myself since the 10th of June. Denise, DeDe, and I went on a Scale Sabbatical for a while because of plateaus, slow losses, and just the scale messin' with our heads! I plan to weigh in at the end of this month, and then once or twice a month thereafter. For me it's been easier and a RELIEF to just concentrate on doing the plan and not worry every day what the scale has to say. I know I'll have a nice drop in weight next time I weigh because I've been compliant. Going scale-less is not for everybody, but it's been a good experiment for me and I find that I'm enjoying the MF process more. I've missed them, but I AM happier without weighing so much. Works for me....to each his own.

I think weighing more than once a day is bad psychologically (at least for me). I ALWAYS weigh more as the day goes on, and am always at least 3-4 lbs. heavier just before bed. I drink a LOT of water, and just two glasses of it will add a pound to your weight.

I weigh every chance I get..lol I do weight each day when I get up...occasionally more then once a day. I try to make hubby weigh each day too :lol: but thats a lost cause. Ugh!

I think once I reach onderland I will swear off the scale for maybe..hmm a week to start, then 2 weeks, then 3......NAHHHHHHHH! :lol:

I agree with the others, if it is making you crazy then lock it away, be compliant and weigh once a week or so. If the ups and downs or stalls don't make you fall into a state of panic and despair, then I would say your safe to weigh as often as you wish. :D

Ok I almost fell out of the chair laughing at the test...the strip tease was too funny!

It doesnt bother me...lol I say that now because it hasnt gone up but I usually can justify it with what I have had to eat so I dont get all nutty. I think it weird that my dh will only weigh in at the end of the night. I think my doing MF will help him lose too...no more eating out all the time.

I just want to know if it is normal to weigh myself every day. So far it has only been once a day.

i usually weigh myself when i first get up, try not to look at the scale the rest of the day, it helps that i work til late so i dont really see the scale late...

every now and then ill have a late night rendevous with it :)
