How Much Water Do You Drink Daily?

Postby bikipatra » January 28th, 2007, 8:21 am

I drink at least 100 oz a day because when I first started I remember reading in someone's journal that they thought this really helped. It is easy for me because, except for my walks and the occasional appointment, I have water in front of me. Like right now I am having water and chamomile tea and have already had 56 oz of plain water.(Remember I get up at 4) But I noticed that the one day last week that was very busy with errands and didn't drink water for FOUR hours, I lost 2.5 pounds overnight. Could I be overhydrating myself? I was wondering also if I would sleep better if I wasn't getting up so many times to tinkle, not that every time I wake up it is to go to the bathroom. Does anyone have a cut-off time so they won't have to get up so often in the night?

During the weight loss phase, I tried to drink 1/2 my weight in water. Now, I keep hydrated, but I don't really count the oz. anymore. It's not my strongest point, but I try.

Did you count Crystal Light or soda? I don't. I have some Crystal Light most days and one diet soda.

I agree with Jo,

I have been drinking about half my weight but sometimes I drink a little over a gallon. When I am in the mood for a soda I actually go for my seltzer water (flavored).

I usually try to stop drinking around 8 pm.

Also I drink my water out of a big plastic cup holds about 32oz. I am able to drink it alot faster then drinking it out of a water bottle.

I drink around 120 oz. per day. I have a bottle that holds 24oz and always drink 4 of those and then drink more at my L&G time but I cut it off at 630pm except for my hot cocoa at 10pm.

I get up 2 times usually. It works out ok for me. I do have to tinkle alot during the day which is hard since we are busy at work.

I've been drinking about 120 oz. of water a day. That includes about 32 oz. of water with Crystal Light in it. I have tried to cut out caffeine completely. I don't really drink much soda, but will allow myself one occassionally.

I don't really have a cut off time at night. It really just depends on how much water I have gotten in for the day. I usually have to get up at least once........sometimes twice.

What I usually try to do is drink the majority of my water during the day. I usually go to bed around 10-10:30 I usually have to wake up once. But it is getting better. There have been a couple of times that I did not have to wake up at all in the middle of the night :D

During weight-loss phase, 118.3 ounces (seven 16.9-ounce bottles). No Crystal Light, Diet Coke, tea or other liquids (other than the stuff added to Medifast packets).

In maintenance, usually 101.4 (six 16.9-ounce bottles). Occasionally (less than once a week most of the time, a Diet Coke or two).

And I usually stop drinking about four hours before bedtime, although that might change now that I'll be going to bed so much earlier.

When I'm on track I drink 72 ounces at work (done by 3:30) and then at home, the Crystal Light and very occasionally a diet soda. I have to pee like a racehorse all day long at work but I haven't had to get up at night. I'm trying to ease up to 100 ounces of plain water but I think if I do, I will probably cut myself off around 7 and give myself a couple hours before bed to dry out. :)

I drink at least 64oz of pure water. After that, I still drink A Lot, but it may include brewed iced tea with splenda or 0 calorie drink.

I try to stop drinking about 2-3 hours before bed, then I only pee once in the night.
