How do I make the pudding without LUMPS?

Postby Mommy2girls » May 18th, 2005, 12:39 pm

I ordered the bannana pudding and like the taste, :D but I just cannot seem to get rid of the lumps! :( I'm just stirring it with a spoon and I tried adding more water, but it made it too "loose" (still edible) but not preferrable.

Any suggestions and I would prefer NOT to use the blender. Thanks!

try putting it iin your shaker jar, add 4 oz of water, and then shake away! sometimes there's a little bit that won't get all wet and you can stir that back in after you refrigerate (after shaking). i make my pudding this way all the time & it comes out great!

Good suggestion, bk.

Sheila, I use the shaker jar to mix my pudding now and it works great. But you will need a rubber scraper to get it all out. Then you get to "lick the spoon." Feels almost sinful!

I use a deep bowl and a wisk, and have no problems.

Try freezing or semi-freezing after you've mixed it, btw; it makes a nice frozen treat as well as a pudding.

Thank you SO much! I'm sitting here as I type and taking little BANANNA CREAM PUDDING breaks, and eating it straight from the shaker jar.

It is SMOOTH and CREAMY!!!!! :-P

I will have to try the freezing thing!

You guys are GREAT!!!! 8)

Glad it worked for you Sheila! You definitely have to try freezing it, as 24k mentioned - it's super duper! (Both chocolate & banana!) Perfect for the summer :)

Magic Bullet

You might want to spend $60 and get the Magic Bullet. You will have wonderful pudding experiences and it is a breeze to clean up too! Good luck!

Yea, I'm going to try freezing too. I always mix mine with a wire whisk, that seems to do the trick. I really look forward to the chocolate pudding as my evening snack!! :o

I use the Magic Bullet, too. Then just rinse off the blades and eat it right out of the little cup. I want to try freezing it, too, though.

And I wish they'd make a pistachio flavor. That's my favorite pudding flavor ever.

I use the wisk too and have good results! There is another much cheapier option to the Magic Bullet, Hamilton Beach personal blender for $15 no s&h on Target.com and it is awesome. Now it does not come with all the extra containers, it just makes on drink in a blener that looks like a cup and I drink right out of it. It has a lid and a t0-go sipper lid like a coffee cup would. I got sick of cleaning the blender and a cup at work.
