How's Jeanette doin'?

Postby Nancy » May 23rd, 2004, 5:13 pm

Hey, Girlfriend ~

How are YOU doin' this week? Is the Mars Candy Company readjusting their orders to Indiana - downsizing them because you are downsizing you??

Didn't you see the stock in the M&M/Mars company go down this week? ;) I am doing really well. One thing I am doing differently that seems to make a difference is journaling. It's more like keeping a food diary, but I also record when I have food cravings and the circumstances surrounding them. A few times this week, I really wanted to eat, and it was associated with either stress or boredom. I'm learning alot about my thought process in association with food.

I hadn't shared this on the board yet, but my hubby (who lost 55 lbs with Medifast) had his gall bladder removed this week. He is healing nicely and will probaby go back to work on Thursday.

Looking forward to seeing pics of Mikey in his TUX!!

Jeanette ~

Hey, I am really glad to hear that you are back into the Medi-swing of shakin' and slurpin' and yes, journaling is great! Some people are not as disciplined as others but it is a terrific way to begin to analyze patterns and to try to determine triggers for overeating.

In the BIG PICTURE of health, we must think about HOW we got to the point of being out of control with food and then try to change our behaviors so that we do not return to our old BM ways.

Journaling is a great way to begin. Some people benefit from just jotting down a few words on the calendar square for the day. The little check sheets in the Lifestyle Book are helpful.

Sometimes it takes a while to figure out what works best. We are trying to replace old patterns and poor food habits with new thinking, new behaviors and to establish new patterns that lead to long-term life style changes.

Keep on keeping on. Love ya and love the great advice & encouragement that you give to others. We are the way makers! :exercise:

Um...I THINK the above was from Nancy! :)

Hubby is well--he went back to work yesterday. Daddy is doing pretty good also!

Now that things in my world are calming down, I feel I can concentrate more on me and less on others for a bit!
