Hot Drinks

Postby Serendipity » November 22nd, 2005, 11:16 am

I was reading old posts this morning and saw that you shouldn't mix hot water with your shakes. Is there a reason besides the problem of getting it to desolve?

I love hot drinks as I am always too cold and the idea of a frosty shake is just to much for me. I have been mixing them in the blender and they get much creamier than cold shakes. I use hot but not boiling water. Call me strange, but even when I mix them with a spoon, I don't mind the lumps. They taste like little bits of fudge in the Dutch Chocolate shakes.

Someone, please tell me it's ok to do this.

PS: I got the idea for hot shakes from a recipe at the Medifast site in one of their recipe book downloads. They had a recipe for Almond Joy:

1 cup hot water
1 dutch chocolate shake
1 tbl coconut sf syrup
1/8 tsp almond extract

It is delicious!

My favorite hot recipe:

1 cup hot water
1 vanilla shake
1 tbl egg nog sf syrup
nutmeg to taste
cinnimon to taste

Lumps

Postby Jan » November 22nd, 2005, 8:41 pm

Hi,
I don't think there is any program reason not to eat the "lumps" Maybe they are an "acquired taste". If you mix the shakes with hot water , you will cook the soy and get lumps. If you like them I guess that's the way to fix um!! Maybe the rest of us are missing a real treat!!
