Holiday Gifts for Ourselves...

Postby Taangrl21 » December 22nd, 2006, 3:51 pm

I thought this would be something kinda fun maybe...The holidays, no matter which one you celebrate, is a time of giving and recieving-whether it be gifts, memories, kind words, love, etc. (ALL IN MY OPINION, dont want to step on anyones toes)

I've always had a habit of buying myself a Christmas gift every year...I have been good so of course I deserve to treat myself to something. I usually purchase from Victoria Secret, since i have the credit card for them (my annual purchase). So this year I went ahead and bought the two sexy santa outfits they advertise, since they were all on clearance. I really like them. So I said what the heck. By next year i WILL fit in them and hopefully have a man in my life the show them too. :bananadance: I also bought a really nice vest type shirt in a Medium (motivational piece--lol).

Just wondering if anyone on here has or is planning on treating the most important person, OURSELVES, to anything special this year?

Some good walking shoes with non-slip treads because I find slick surfaces so scary due to a previous injury and general clumsiness, especially for one with such natural grace.

Some Philosophy 3-in-1 shower gel (in Candy Cane, Cinnamon Bun, Amazing Grace and Pure Grace) and some Amazing Grace and Pure Grace perfume.

I'm thinking shoes too, Biki! I don't know if they're non-slip, but I've been eyeing those MBT shoes, has anyone here heard of them?

MBT stands for Masai Barefoot Technology. The shoes have been designed to simulate walking in sand, and are billed as a mini-workout in themselves. They're supposed to make your core strengthening muscles more active, create better posture, and increase shock absorption for all of the joints - the supposed benefits of which are relief of muscle tension, joint problems, back problems, and leg and feet problems.

Sounds too good to be true, huh? Still...I've heard really good things about them. They're pretty pricey, so they'd better be worth it! And maybe they'll make me hawtt enough for Vicky's sexy stuff by Valentine's Day!!

Mmmm Robin - you're gonna' stink gooood!

I saw those advertised in my Alternative Health magazine. I am going to google them and see if they are appropriate for walking on wet pavement. I so need strengthened core muscles. I have heard my weak abs could be adding to my back woes...

I have already picked out my Valentine's present. A pair of aquamarine heart shaped earrings to go with my aquamarine rings! I know they say only pimps and mafiosos wear them but I used a resizer to make my other aquamarine ring into a pinkie ring! It is a bit over the top since it is a honking big stone but I only wear it like this for special occasions, like walking to Starbucks...

I bought a new blackberry - does that count? Sometimes I can't tell if it is for me or the job. Still, I was excited to get it so I'm claiming it as a self-gift.

that would definitly be considered a gift to yourself...its not something you go out and buy everyday...more like a "treat".

I like buying myself gifts a few times a year.I think we give so much of ourselves to so many other people and commitments that we tend to forget ourselves.

So if you havent gotten yourself a gift yet maybe you should. If only once a year, get something or do something that makes you feel good. :)

Every year when things get marked down thats when I buy my make up...not a big treat but its cheaper than all that other make up and it does the same job. I read that you should only keep make up for a year so I use this time of the year to clean out my make up... :)

I think makeup is definitly a gift....I love shopping at Sephora.com!!!
Kinda expensive compared to drugstores but I would rather some things from there.Hey when you can get things marked down go for it...if it is something that makes you happy and feel good I consider it a gift. :)

My friend Merrick gave me some Darphin mascara yesterday that I cannot wait to use. As soon as the Peapod dude gets here I am going to shower so I can try my new mascara. It is supposed to be as good as YSL Faux Cils but that always flaked on me. I am still searching for my Holy Grail mascara and am hoping this is the one!
