Holiday Egg Nog

Postby Nancy » November 15th, 2005, 2:24 pm

Hi, Folks!

It's about time I put a few recipes for holiday sipping here for you. I must be the only person in the whole world that thinks about egg nog as Gag Nog...my husband loves it and traditional egg nog is loaded with calories, cholesterol and sugar. Thanks to our friends Margaret and Leanne, here's a Take Shape For Life Legal recipe featuring a packet of French Vanilla Medifast shake.

1 packet of Vanilla Shake (any formula)
6-7 oz of cold water
1T Egg Nog Sugar Free Syrup (DaVinci)
½ to ¾ T Butter Rum Syrup (DaVinci)
½- ¾ T Spice Blend Syrup (DaVinci)
Couple dashes of Nutmeg (optional)

--Makes 1 cup.

Mix the water and vanilla shake (powder) together. Add the flavorings and top with nutmeg.
Pour into a fancy party glass and sip this decadent treat and think thinny thoughts.

Happy Holidays! You now have a healthy alternative to the fattening “traditional” version of Egg Nog. And best part of all, you can have this any time you want a “holiday” in a glass.

The following Nutritional Info is based on a French Vanilla 55 shake packet...

One of my favorite shakes is egg nog, but I make it a little differently and to me it tastes just like real egg nog:

1 Vanilla shake
1-2 TBL SF Egg Nog syrup ( I use only 1)
Nutmeg - as little or as much as you like (I use about 10 shakes from the can)
Cinnimon - to taste

I usually mix it hot because it seems I'm always cold here in the North East. It is delicious.

AND, for a change, I tried it hot with Dutch Chocolate and the Mocha shakes.....very good, too.

It pays to experiment to find what tastes good to you. That's how I stumble onto some pretty good stuff.
