Hip Hop Abs?

Postby dede4wd » May 2nd, 2007, 1:24 pm

Hi,
I just ordered the Hip Hop Abs DVD's and was curious as to if anyone had any experience? I HATE doing floor work (crunches, etc) and KNOW my abs need some work, so I'm giving it a try. Anyone tried it?

I know people were talking about it on the official MF forums and the ones who tried it said they loved it and it was fun.

Too bad I hate hip-hop. :(

LOL! I do too! I'm hoping I'll be able to do it without the sound!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » May 20th, 2007, 11:47 pm

Shipping took a bit longer than expected (ebay), but I got my package yesterday and tried my first 2 workouts tonight...the fat burning cardio and the last minute abs 5 minute ab workout.

Okay first the fat burning cardio...the first thing I realized VERY quickly is that I have ABSOLUTELY no rhythm! This didn't come as a big surprise with how clumsy I am, but it was still frustrating. I'm sure I'll get better as I learn the moves. The music wasn't overly annoying...just thump thump thump like in a dance club. "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me"-type stuff.

One thing I noticed...it didn't seem like I was working that hard. I definitely was keeping up with the advanced folks and usually when starting a new cardio workout, I have to stop and rest...I never did. I just had to stop for a sec to see what the heck move they were doing! I got the hang of it. I WAS sweating like a pig though, so I guess that was good (it also didn't help that it's 85 degrees in that room!)

Then I decided to try the last minute abs five minutes routine! It was pretty cool...I'm a teeny bit sore but willing to give it a week or so.

Basically, I don't much like the cardio aspect of it because I don't have the moves, but I think I'll probably like the ab, butt and thigh workouts more!

That's all I know so far!

Now, don't be thinking that I'm actually planning on beginning exercising

But I am going to think harder about doing it! :scratchhead:

You guys are so funny!!!

I know what you mean Tawanda, I have more workout videos than most stores do and I just decided that with my new motto and complaining about the final weight coming off slow that I really NEED to get myself in the HABIT of doing something physical EVERY DAY. I've been walking, but I KNOW I need to tone. I just have to find something I can COMMIT to doing every day or I'll have to change my motto!

On my way upstairs to try the TOTAL BODY BURN, hope I find some ryhthm!

I have a couple of workout tapes... I watched them while lounging on the sofa. :couch: Does that count??
Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire

I have done the exact same thing except I usually lounge in bed.
