Hey thats good

Postby Prancer » October 4th, 2006, 5:31 pm

I saw in some thread somewhere that Robin ads the caramel syrup to a choc shake. I just tried it. YUM. Now I am going to have to go to TJ Maxx tomorrow and see if I can get some others that she mentioned...hazlenut, marshmallow....

Hey girls! If you can't find the flavor(s) you want at TJMaxx or if you just can't find them, period...they have a website that you can order them through. That way too, you're guaranteed to find whichever flavor you'd like to try--and there are a bunch of them. The only one that I am not particulary fond of is the peanut butter. It tastes nothing like PB to me, which is sad 'cuz I was so looking forward to that one. The pineapple flavor tastes like fresh pinapple, no joke; and the caramel and raspberry flavors are very good too.

The site is davincigourment dot com.

I don't like the pb, either. And things like English toffee taste too sweet to me. But the others are fabulous. And if you get 'em from the Web site, you can also order their handy-dandy pumps.

Pineapple sounds good, but I'm not sure what I'd put it in. My favorites are the caramel (apple-cinnamon oatmeal with a pump of caramel is SINful), the hazelnut (when I put it in my cocoa, everyone at work wants to know where I got it), the blueberry (for blueberry oatmeal) and the marshmallow (for cocoa, of course; and sometimes I put a little in the chocolate pudding).

I initially got the pineapple to use with the french vanilla shakes that came in my variety pack. Ugh, I could not even hold my nose and drink those. I detested them. The pineapple flavoring made them drinkable. Since I finished the vanilla shakes, I've used the pineapple on just crushed ice (like a sno-cone), 'cuz I like it so much. When I wrote the last post I was trying to remember something I had used it for recently and I couldn't for the life of me remember! I still can't. Hmmm. Nope, it escapes me still--but watch, it'll come to me and then I'll have to try to remember who I needed to tell! Getting old ain't for sissies!!

I am headed to VT today to do some errands so I am going to stop in TJ Maxx and see what they have. I think I might try the carmel with the apple oatmeal later. I wonder if you can bake the oatmeal with the carmel in it. I ate so much of it when I first started I am a bit over it now. The weather has turned cold tho and I think I need to get back into the hot foods.

I love the caramel too. I found the SF caramel at our Super WalMart... that made me happy!
I tried caramel with maple oatmeal and they did not turn out well. Not sure if it was the oatmeal variety or the syrup, but the consistency was funky and the taste was rather bland.
I love the caramel with choc shakes and ice.... yummm. My son even begs for to make him one ;)

I use Torani SF black cherry in a glass of club soda over ice. It's like black cherry soda! You could try that with the pineapple and it would be sort of like drinking a fizzy pineapple juice.

choc pudding with black cherry syrup in the magic bullet is tasty, too--

Try Sam's Club

Postby KimKim » October 26th, 2006, 9:03 pm

DaVinci syrups are at Sam's club in tall, plastic containers for $4.50, which is $3.00 less than what you'll pay on many other sites and about $2.00 less than TJ Maxx.

But . . .

Can somebody tell me how you organize your syrups? I have twelve bottles and didn't know where to put them or how to organize them, so I left them in the box they came in and I just pull them up and out when I need to. I would like to buy the pumps and just have them "available" for me whenever I want to pump and go.

Help?

I found a good place for supplies and such. try www DOT syrup2u DOT com
They have all kinds of syrups, but they also sell all of the pumps and such also.
We have about 6 on our counter at one time. Just all lined up along the edge of the counter. Whenever we need it, we just put the container up to the pump, and pump away.
