Ok.. here's the next "next" newbie

Postby Bob Loblaw » June 20th, 2006, 11:09 pm

I've been lurking here a bit, picked up quite a few great tips. Ordered my 1st months supply last night, due to arrive Friday!

I'm super inspired by some of the success stories and raring to go. I feel my head is "straight" and I'm focused on the goal. I'm sure there will be a few bumps in the road, but I'm prepared.

Standard story here... Overachiever, working long hours, late dinners and so on. I make a good income so it has been easy to stop on the way home for take out from the local restaurant chain or independent.

What's the goal/motivation? (in no particular order)

1. I REALLY want to wear nice clothes. No more XXL or XXXL from Casual Male! I want to wear my "good" suits again. (along with the new, completely unworn $900 Hugo Boss cashmere jacket I bought 3 years ago!)
2. I want to sleep easy and on my back at that!
3. I want to live long to watch my nephews and nieces grown up.
4. I don't want to breathe hard after a flight of stairs. I visit my dentist every other week (Invisalign) and always take the stairs but have to walk slowly before I get to his office to catch my breath.
5. I want to make my parents proud and to eliminate any worries they have regarding my health.
6. I want to feel more comfortable in business situations.
7. I want to enjoy my annual house boat trip. No shirt! A "normal" size life vest!

Bottom line? I wanna live!

No more ordering two meals to go... with two drinks to hide the fact that I'm eating them both!
No more "Monday morning dieting" Including the Saturday & Sunday night "pre diet" feasts!
No more big & tall clothes shopping and feeling so depressed in the dressing room.
No more "internet" clothes shopping and guessing at the sizes! Then when they arrive they are either too small or too big)
No more wearing 3XL t-shirts with a loose button down shirt over the top (unbuttoned of course)
No more avoiding social situations
No more looking for a "table" in a restaurant because I don't fit comfortably in a booth. (unless I scope one out where the booth table moves)

It'll all happen.. one day at a time! I look forward to the day where I'm at goal. I'm making two goals... one at 70lbs. and the final at 90lbs! My reward? At 70 I'll order a new car and 60 days later (at goal) I'll take a two week to europe for delivery!

Here goes my journey! My program begins Saturday... NOT Monday (providing my meals arrive on Friday)

310/310/220 (with a 240 mid-goal)

Welcome Bob. Thought I was the only one using the two drink trick. You're going to fit in just fine.

Remember the start is the hardest and you may be miserable for 2-4 days. Hang in there because it get soooooo much easier after that. Your hunger will subside and you'll be amazed at how quickly and consistently the weight drops.

Thanks for the kind words folks...

I'm looking forward to starting on Saturday so I feel somewhat normal for the work week.

Q: Do they ship the product "signature required"?

Lauren: You need to read my Law Blog "Bob Loblaw's Law Blog" (say that one quickly three times) ;)

Careful for the Aunt and Uncle threads...they will sneak up on you.

Hello Bob. Funny to find out how universal being fat is!! Man or woman, we all have the same worries and goals, stuff thin people have probably never even considered. Looking forward to your future posts.

I've never signed for my MF shipments. UPS just drops it off at my front door.

Welcome!

I can't believe someone else does the 2 drink thing. My downfall is sub sandwiches! LOVE THEM! I order a big 1 then ask they put onions on 1 half and wrap separately. I eat them both. Thought I was the only one.

Amazing what we would do to avoid humiliation, thing is, how would they even know if someone was at home or not???? funny
