Help Please! Ordering for the first time need help

Postby missjessie » February 27th, 2006, 10:52 pm

Ok as I said I am prepairing to order for hte first time. I am torn tho there is a deal where you get 5 weeks for the price of 4 and free shipping. Although I am stuck with the food they send. Now I am confused I thought you are suppose to have 3 shakes a day? there are not enough shakes in the 5 week pack to have 3 a day. I would get 49 shakes. Is this right?
Here is what I would get with the pack 14 vanilla shakes, 14 chocolate shakes, 7 strawberry shakes, 7 orange shakes, 7 banana shakes, 14 chicken noodle soups, 14 chilis, 7 minestrone soups, 7 chicken & wild rice soups, 7 cream of broccoli soups, 7 oatmeal raisin bars, 7 caramel nut bars, 7 fruit & nut granola bars, 7 chocolate marshmallow bars, 7 apple cinnamon oatmeals, 7 maple & brown sugar oatmeals, 7 chocolate puddings, 7 banana puddings, 7 cappuccinos, 7 hot cocoas, 7 chai lattes, 2 free shaker jars and a Quick Start Guide, PLUS FREE SAMPLE PACKETS of French vanilla oatmeal, chocolate pudding, and cream of tomato soup!

So I think you see where I am confused. Are they figuring that I will have something else in place of a shake?

Will I be better off to custom order what I feel I will like? I am so confused about what and how much I should order.

Help Please

Oh yea where do I order?

This is so much to process AH (Yes I am frustrated)

Thanks so much for helping me threw this

Hi Jessie,

When I made my first order through Medifast, I got the promotional deal with the extra week. I did not like most of the products, so for me the extra week of stuff was not that great of a deal. You can always send it back or trade on Swap-N-Shop. If I had it to do all over again, I would have made my first order through this website and TSFL (Take Shape for Life). You can join by clicking on the picture of Nancy above, which takes you to their homepage. Once you join, you can call them for advice and they will help you with your order.

You don't have to have 3 shakes a day, you can mix and match all of the supplements (but only 1 bar a day is allowed).

Another good thing about ordering through TSFL is that you can order samples. This way you can try out products before you order a whole box of them.

It was a confusing process for me in the beginning also. I would suggest calling the 1-800 number on the top of this page to help you get a good start.

Like Patti said the 3 shake a day rule no longer applies. I personally ordered the promo package with the week free and loved it. I went to swap and shop and traded the things I was not thrilled with. Also keep in mind that if there is something you don't like at first some people have found that their tastes change and what they don't like in the beginning they end up liking later. Please keep in mind that when I ordered I had made up my mind that I was doing this no matter what the food tasted like! I knew that it would work so I was determined to stick with it. Lucky for me I like almost all the products. I am not thrilled with the Cappucino or Chai latte but everything else I love. However you decide to order one thing is for sure you are destined to lose weight if you follow the program to a tee!

 Hi Jessie,
It's like the others said I got the promo deal. I liked some of it & disliked others. But, I was able to go the swap-n-shop board and trade for stuff I really like & someone else got what they really like. It was cool. I purchased my stuff right through this website, I used the 800 number listed above. I get very good care, emails & phone calls to ensure I'm doing well. I really appreciate Nancy's help.

You'll do great! Welcome to our family,

Hi Jesse and welcome to the forum,
It's very important when you order through TSFL to phone a health advisor. They can help you design a plan that's best for you. There's also other promotions available for first time customers that require a promo code. Once you place an order on your own, you can't take advantage of the promo code.

You can phone our 800 number up there ^, or take a look at our list of quality health advisors here:
MakeMeThinner Health Advisors

They each have their own 800 numbers and are eager to help you reach and maintain your goals.
All the best,
Unca

Miss Jessie ~

I know it can feel like you are getting a "mystery box" when ordering the 4 week Variety Pack because there is always the possibility that you'll not like every item but it does provide an opportunity to try nearly all of the products. Just as others have written, most likely there will be someone who will trade with you - you just have to package the items you plan to swap and then do it through PM.

When you select your own products, a suggested guideline is to order 21 boxes of meal replacements for a 4 week supply of food.

Each box contains 7 packets of food (EXCEPT for the Medifast Fast Soups.
Fast Soups are packaged 14 packets to a box and they are not complete meal replacements, they are Medifast snacks and can be used as an in between meal treat in addition to the regular 5 meal replacement products you have for the 5 & 1 Program.)

Regarding the 21 boxes for a month's order...

Think about what you think you'd enjoy the most for

breakfast: oatmeal or a drink?

mid-morning: shake, a drink, a bar, soup?

lunch: shake or a soup? Maybe you'll also want to order Medifast crackers - you may have one packet daily as a 'treat' not a complete meal and they are nice to have with Chili or soup or all by themselves. If you want them, you need 4 boxes for a month's supply.

afternoon: a bar, a shake, a drink, soup?

evening Medifast meal: pudding? shake? oatmeal?

Anything that you would most likely eat one serving of on a daily basis, such as a bar - you'll need 4 boxes for a month's supply.

Example: Every day I have Chai Latte so I order 1 box per week times 4 weeks = 4 boxes of Chai Latte

Every day I have oatmeal 1-2 times a day so I order 2 boxes per week times 4 weeks = 8 boxes

I have 1-2 Women's Health Shakes so I always have 4-8 boxes of shakes per month.

All products are sold by the individual packet for $2.50 each and that's a great way to go if you are unsure of a product. That way, if it is something that you do not care for, you don't have 6 more packets to deal with; if you like it then you can order more next time.

It is hard to suggest products because we all have different palates but nearly every item can usually be fixed up so a person can eat it and not waste it and then luckily, we need not order it again. I really don't do a lot of fixin' up because I like most things just as they are but I do use seasonings. It won't be long until you have it all figured out - your Health Advisor can provide some more information, too.
