First, I should preface this by saying I am a lab tech at a hospital and I also teach asthma classes there. Most childhood asthma follows this pattern, as a kid you have it, as a teen or early 20's it is "exercise induced" and then mid twenties or 30's (although it is most common after the birth of a child, change in climate, or about age 25 it can manifest at any time) or beyong, it comes back. I would say make an appointment with an allergist or puliminologist and get some meds. You might not need them all the time, but I would bet it is asthma.
