Hello New to Meditast

Postby Monicat » March 5th, 2005, 1:11 pm

Hello Everyone,
I am new to Medifast producst. I have been on Medifast 5/1 programs for 12 days. Feeling good, even though sometimes hungry. When a person pretty much goes cold turkey against all the junk food and just grabbing snacks and food when you feel like it, it is hard to break those bad habits. Hope to get over this hump soon! I lost 6 lbs the first week. Happy about that
Hope to learn alot on this forum along with hearing from new people.
God Bless,
Monica

Welcome, Monicat. Glad you found us!

I have been doing this for just over a month, and those habits do start to fade. I doubt mine will ever be completely gone, but I do feel a difference "inside" already.

Congrats on your first week loss! That is great!

Hi Monicat,

Welcome! Those urges and habits WILL go away if you stick to the program. I've been on MF for 2 months and the "junk" doesn't get to me anymore. Sure, sometimes I think about it for a split second but just as soon as the thought pops up. it's gone!! It's actually quite amazing!
I think once your results start sinking in and your body feels so much better, the old stuff isn't so important anymore.

6 pounds is great for your first week!

Here's to your success

New To Group

Postby joysea » March 5th, 2005, 11:55 pm

I, too, am new to this group, but not to Medifast. I originally started Medifast on March 12, 2003 at 193 and reached goal of 115 on October 9!
However that goal was unrealistic for me at 5' 3 1/2" and found it very difficult to maintain. The year of 2004 was one of constant struggle with the sugar demon and gained back almost 55 of the 78 pounds lost.
I think now I have a better grip on a more realistic goal of 130. I also did not make use the transition process outlined in "Success in a Shaker Jar."

I have been learning( I prefer not to use the term "lurking") these past few weeks and have decided to utilize Medifast to achieve my goals. I will continue to post and throughly enjoy this group. I feel like I know many of you just by the common threads that we share.

Hi Monicat!
I'm newish too. The everday grazing is hard to get over. Walk past a candy dish, take a couple pieces. Walk past the pantry, grab a couple cookies. Get a drink, grab a bag of chips, etc etc. It's hard the first few weeks I think, then you're just working on breaking habit. :)

Welcome Monicat! I had a "habit" of munching all day and it really has taken every bit of my 4 weeks to stop thinking about the food. I work out of my home and EVERY TIME I would walk up the steps toward my kitchen I would grab a bit of something. After I began MF I would think about it EVERY TIME. And I am talking 100 times a day! Now I only think about the food occassionally and it is easier to talk myself out of it! It really will pass and that is one of my favorite things about MF> It is so restricted that it is a cold turkey way to quit the bad habits. I really need that. Thanks for sharing your story and welcome to the best forum around!

Welcome, all you new folks!

You guys know that if you get really hungry you can go ahead and have another shake. Nancy advises this, and so does the Success In A Shaker jar book, which I re-read last night. If you don't have this book already, I strongly recommend it. It's packed full with lots of good information and advice about this program, and it is easy to read.

Good luck!

Yeah, but I don't want the shakes, I want the BARS. :) I think I could eat the box some days. :/
