Yea, considering I have that in a day :oops: - BUT DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO! Diet Coke and Peanut Butter are my addictions that I am having a very difficult time letting go of.

Diet sodas are acceptable, and you are allowed 3 caffeinated drinks per day. The new Momentum products have caffeine and are also good thermogenic products, but if you have them, you subtract the caffeine products allowed for each one you have.

Dr. Andersen mentioned on the Dr call wednesday that he would limit the diet sodas as they can do other things to us (the acids can affect our intestinal tract, the carbonation can bloat the tummy, and the acids also can wear away the teeth if you have too many). He also brought up that Splenda was tested extensively before it was approved, moreso than some of the other sweeteners. ;)

So, yeah, 2-3 a week is fine... 1 a day wouldn't be the worst thing if you really need it

:scratchhead: Hmmm...how just how many teeth is too many teeth, Mike? :roflmao: Just Kidding. ;)

Thanks for clarifying the use of the Momentum products so people can stay within the caffeine limits for the day - people on the weight loss phase may be more susceptible to the effects of caffeine... :whattha:

IMHO, it is best to limit diet drinks.

Dr. A and I have had many discussions about this very topic...the more sweets (fake or not) ya eat, the more ya seem to want.

Diet pop can be a great tool when you think ya might be caving in or in danger of going off-program but they can also become such a daily food crutch that they take the place of water intake.

There is some thought that the more sweets we ingest, our desire and anticipation for them grows; some of this may be psychological, research continues.

Use what you need but endeavor to get by with the smallest amount per day. I think the less number of times we have food and drink in our hands and in our mouth, the safer we are...

Hi

I’ve just returned from vacation to Dubai, Kuala Lumpur & Singapore and I’m ready, motivated to start the Medifast program. I was waiting till I got back as I need to get into a sensible routine and didn’t want even greater pressure of being away and not enjoying myself.

Secondly ~ never apologize for asking too many questions... there really is no such thing here. :D In fact, I think it's great when newbies ask a lot of questions, it demonstrates that they're thinking about this plan and really trying to figure out what works best for them. So, ask away!

Both of your last two scheduling options look great! :thumbsup: Remember that you can always switch it up, too. That is, if you'd like to have your lean and green meal in the middle of the day, you would simply have a supplement during the later time. Whatever ~ as long as during the course of the day you have five supplements (only 1 bar) and one lean and green meal, you're all set.

Don't forget the water! It is truly essential - and the suggested 64 ounces is really minimal. A general rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces. So, for instance, you said that you weigh about 230 lbs. so, optimally, you should drink 115 ounces of water. Pure water. It sounds like a lot, but most folks get used to it and it eventually becomes a habit. After that, diet soft drinks and flavored water is up to you, though they do suggest limiting caffeinated drinks.
