Hey everyone, I am excited to announce that this morning I started Medifast. I am 21, and up until autumn of last year I never had a weight problem. Growing up my parents were health freaks, so I always had a healthy diet, that has stayed with me until this day...but then around September something happened. I discovered Silk Very Vanilla soy milk...and fell in love. I've always said that I would rather eat my calories, so I always stuck with water or green tea, then when I got addicted to soy milk...my weight ballooned up quickly. I didn't realize exactly how much I gained, I buy new clothes all the time, and it didn't seem like much of a deal when I would have to buy a bigger size pant, except when I realized the size just kept getting bigger and bigger. Then a few weeks ago I looked at some pictures from a recent family reunion, and was shocked to see how big I've gotten. So I decided to do something about it.
I have heard of medifast, and so I did some research, and decided I would rather do a very low calorie diet, and lose quickly instead of taking 2 or 3 times as long to lose the weight. Yet a part of me was still unsure...then I came across this site, and you all have been such an inspiration. I mean wow! I've never felt actually addicted to food, but I definately was to soy milk, and I can understand how hard it is to break an addiction. And reading all your stories was just amazing. I actually cried tears of joy when I read about all your weight loss victories, and I knew without a doubt that I wanted to be a part of the Medifast family.
I'm not sure how much I have to lose, I weight myself a few weeks ago and I was at 189, but that was fully clothed and with shoes. So assuming I haven't gained anymore since then
I'm guessing I weight around 185. So I would have to lose 50 pounds to get back to my old weight. I am posting some starting pics, and I cannot wait until the day I can post my ending ones!
So far today I am feeling great. Normally I come home from class everyday (massage therapy, which I'm hoping to be back down to my original size by graduation in December
)I'm starving, but I just got back and I don't feel hungry at all:) Hopefully I'll make it through the rest of the tough first 3 days this easily.
Thank you all so much for the inspiration to start the program!
