Welcome

Hi Brian,
Welcome to our group. I know you will do great on program and soon those extra pounds will be a thing of the past. I have about 9 friends who are flight attendants and they are all on program. Well actually they're my daughter's friends  They are all parting with the pounds and doing great. They keep telling me this is a wonderful program for people who spend a great deal of their time in an airplane. I know it will work for you too. It takes compliance and if it's not listed in the Quick Start Booklet -- it doesn't go in the mouth . Soon you'll be in a regular routine and parting with those pounds. I'll keep watching for you.

Hi and welcome!

The first 3 days are kinda tough, but use the allowed snacks and if you just can't take it have an extra shake or supplement, you will make it through! After that there is no more hunger and you feel GREAT.

Once in a while I do feel hungry but when I feel that, I know a big loss is coming the next day. :)

Do they make the ready to drink shakes in 70's? You are taking 70's not 55's right? The 70 shakes have more protein in them and are made for men and very active women.

Hi Brian,
Welcome to the group! This is a great place to find support & answers to any of your questions :)
To my knowledge they do not currently make the RTD in 70, only 55, but in a pinch it probably wouldn't be a problem for you to use them.
You CAN do this - just don't let the desire for carbs win, and it will get easier with time :)

Hi Brian! This is the best support group ever. I'm one of the lucky ones as I sailed smoothly through the first 3 days. Hope you are as lucky! I haven't been hungry at all with Medifast as we get to eat every 2-3 hours, not the case with all the previous diets I have tried. :cheermed:

Medifast is the football..your weight is the opposing team. Hang onto the ball and RUN!!!! Sorry I couldn't resist the sporty analogy. GO STEELERS!!

You can do this! If a 36 year old, sawed off redhead with two kids(not counting hubby) recently quit smoking within the last year, overly emotional woman(at times) can do it(raising hand-HERE) then you can surely accomplish this feat! :)

Suggestions of things to stock up on:
Garlic pepper
Mrs Dash
I can't believe it's not butter spritzer
cinnamon
Molly McButter
Molly McCheese(great with celery)
Splenda(or another allowed sweetner)
SF Mints(breathsavers are the bomb)
SF Gum
SF Jello
Celery
Pickles
Crystal light(on the go packets are nice to carry along)
Other handy things:
Scale
Food scale(digital takes less guesswork)
Handy Dandy water bottle with a screw on lid so you can not only carry water but use as a shaker bottle, in a pinch.
Minature steno notebook to track your water and meal replacement/meal times, snack items(this has helped me sooo much)
Can't think of anymore right off the top of my head if I do..I'll be back. lol

You can do this!
Hugs,
Gina

Welcome Brian!!! If there is any program you can lose the weight on it is this one. I had the same experience as you with atkins... it is the only diet that would work for me but I would gain all the weight back plus some. I also felt very sluggish on atkins but on medifast I have loads of energy. As for the bread cravings I know many people on this forum make oatmeal muffins. Maybe that would help? Just check out the lean & green section of the forum for great recipes. I know you can do this! Good Luck!

Hi Brian

You have come to the right place to get your questions answered!

You are now an official Medifaster

The Medifast works when you follow the program. The key to success is to always be prepared!!! I find that if I go out the door of my house, the best thing I can do is take a small cooler with my Medifast in it. I freeze one of the Ready to Drink shakes ahead of time and stick it in with the a couple of more shakes and a bar. It keeps all the shakes cool and at the end of the day I drink the Frozen one (it tastes so good because it is like icemilk).

Once you get past the first 5 days it is so much easier. You can do it!!! We all have and we are looking and feeling good!!!!

I love MEDIFAST :cheermed:

Hi Brian,

Nice to have you here. I think you'll do great with MF while travelling. I've found that doing this program makes eating so much easier. Everything is packaged and portable so you never have to try and find something decent to eat while hurrying through the airport.

I hear you on missing the bread. For me, it's potatos. I make muffins, cookies, cookie dough and no-bake oatmeal cookies out of the oatmeal. IT's a great way to make the meal portable and makes it feel like you're getting something solid and chewy and sweet. Actually, I found myself craving salty and spicy the first couple weeks on the diet. Mrs. Dash is wonderful and it comes in several flavors.

Good luck!
