height/weight visual

Postby LAwoman » January 3rd, 2007, 6:29 pm

While searching for height/weight charts, I found this kind of interesting visual graph that shows pictures of people at specific heights/weights.

Granted, it's not perfect as we all have different body types, weight distribution, gender..., but still, it's kind of interesting to look at, espcially when it gets filled.

If you go to this cockeyed website, scroll down, and on the right hand side, under new features you'll see where you can click the height/weight sample.

Just something kind of fun to look at and get some idea.
Who knows, maybe we'll see some MF success stories on that graph ;)

Enjoy!

You can make a virtual model of yourself at triple w dot mvm dot com. (Stands for My Virtual Model, but use mvm.) You tell it your weight, body shape, eye shape et cetera and you even get to dress yourself. Kinda cool. They have a variety of different outfits but I chose what I would normally wear-a black top and pants. This is what it churned out for me at my current weight and for my goal weight.

Mvm is a cool site too.
What I like about cockeyed is to see how different people look at similar weights.
Either way, the best will be when we see our own visual at goal. ;)

That IS cool. Although it'd be cooler if they actually had someone my height and weight. Or close to it.

The closest they have is someone about 8 pounds lighter, but my body doesn't look anything like hers.

different body types

Postby LAwoman » January 4th, 2007, 7:10 pm

Hey Dogma,

That's what's so interesting/cool to me about that sight.

We get so stuck on a number, what weight we think we should be at, that it is truly amazing to me how different that number looks on different body types.

It's helped me personally think more about the weight that is healthy on me versus an "ideal" of what I thought I should be all these years.

Does that make sense? Sometimes I write things here, then look back later and think what was I saying, that's not what I meant, sigh! :?

No, I know what you mean. I just think it would be more interesting to show a variety of people at the same height and weight. Because I would bet they all look different.

Ok, first, right click on the picture and "save" to your hard drive. Like your "My pictures" folder. Do that with the old and new, or in between yous. Then go to a site like photobucket (I use that) or imageshack or another free image hosting service and upload the pics. (just follow the instructions.) They will give you tags to copy and paste here. Have fun! Can't wait to see the new you!

Just send them to me Mary.
Make your post, and I'll do everything for you.

I don't mind people hosting their own, but I move them to our server anyway.
