HEATING BARS

Postby BettinaV » September 6th, 2006, 10:01 am

Hi all,

So someone suggested to heat the oatmeal raisin bars and I tried it and it was great. I took a small fork, put the bar on a small plate, and it was like eating pastry. This morning I did it with the lemon bar and it was yummy too. Going to try it with all of them. But have to be careful as you can only nuke them for 20 seconds or so so as not to burn them.

Enjoy!

MINT BAR

Postby BettinaV » September 7th, 2006, 9:36 am

I DID heat the chocolate mint bar this morning and it was great. If you get the right amount of time it changes the texture to just like a mint brownie. I am heating them all from now on.

I also like heating up the Caramel Nut bars. They are a little chewy now anyway, but I like the texture after warming them up for about 15 seconds.

So I have heated all the bars, including the lemon and the fruit and nut and smores. I am not a big fan of the cardboardlike fruit and nut and smores bars at all. But heating them up a little makes a lot of difference IMHO.

I tried ALL the bars heated and IMHO they are much better. I love all the bars but those granola ones are just too dry and tasteless for me. When you heat them, whatever is holding all the stuff together melts and it's sort of like peanut butter I think. I have not tried to chill any of the bars but it sounds great with the chocolate mint. Will try that next. Had the caramel nut bar nuked for 20 seconds this morning and it was good.
