Heartburn

Postby FitQueen » January 5th, 2007, 11:11 am

I have been on MF for 5 days and today, I am experiencing heartburn. Has anyone else exeperienced heartburn while on MF?

Thanks,

I did a little at first - course it could be related to the fact that I replaced the dressing on my salad with jalapenos for the first 3 days...

I'm sure someone else will chime in soon but I remember reading that we could have antacids. I spent about ten minutes in the aisle reading the back of every pack to make sure I wouldn't accidentally ingest any sugar and settled on some TUMS.

Good luck.

They have Tagamet and Zantac that you can buy over-the-counter. They also can help with the hunger pains.

I actually am just the opposite...when I quite eating all the bad stuff and am on MF my heartburn goes away.

The company recommends a bit of Pepcid, I believe. I'd go with something not chewable (in other words, not Tums). Regular chewables usually have sugar; the sugar-free ones have other sweeteners you probably want to limit.

The following is the carb content of different varieties of TUMS, I do not know how many tablets you would be using.

Regular Strength: 747 mg. (0.747 gm.)
E-X: 1110 mg. (1.11 gm.)
Ultra: 1494 mg. (1.494 gm.)
Sugar-Free E-X: 500 mg. (0.5 gm.)
Smooth Dissolve: 540 mg. (0.54 gm.)

Thank you for your responses. I feel better. I think I had a very stressful day and my body went a little crazy. :hammerhead:
