Postby pixiewhispers » May 8th, 2006, 9:16 am

What do we do about headaches. I had one immediatly saturday morning when I had my first medifast oatmeal, it eased up after staying in bed most of saturday, sunday just a mild on. But now, I have a bad headache again. Is this normal..and what should I do. I took excedrin already, but it is not helping.

Try a little bullion broth...Sometimes a headache is because of low sodium. I had headaches the first week on the program. Once my body finished detoxing they stopped. Hang in there :)

I had a headache for the first 5 days. I took medication and my heath advisor told me to put lots of salt on my celery and eat it. I guess because of the low sodium as Musical Momma said. Stay strong as the headaches will go away and you will feel GREAT!

Tylenol has a new caplet out that absorbs quickly. I've had to use them twice now because of headaches. I'm still getting slight headaches, but for the most part I've been dealing with them. I had a raging migraine one of the days though!! I also have this roll-on headache relief oil that I put on my temples and the back of my head.

Be sure to get plenty of water in too.

Dehydration can cause headaches....

Thanks all! I am drinking more than my share of 64 oz pure water- more around 88-100. I will try and see if I can stomach the beef broth!!! If that doesnt help, then I will add salt to my celery! Thanks so much for the tips!

WELCOME PIXIE!

I think eveyone gets those headaches when they start on program. I think its a combination of your body rebelling against the detoxification ... the lack of whats it's use to ... and the salt and water (as others have said).

I took Tylenols and had a cup of chicken broth everyday (also the salt on my celery). ;)

Hang in there Pixie! They do go away and things get easier

Hi Pixie,

When I first started the Medifast ProgramI was a diet pepsi fiend!! I drank at least a 6 pack every day. :guzzle: I had to withdraw slowly from the caffeine so I would not get the really bad headaches :lightening: I had when I tried to withdraw previously. I am happy to say I have one diet pepsi about every other day now and have no headaches. :whoohoo: I don’t know if you were used to having lots of caffeine prior to the program but stopping it all at once will cause monster headaches.

Just a thought. Sorry to hear you are suffering….it does get better.
