Have you ever LICKED your plate clean?

Postby bikipatra » January 6th, 2007, 1:14 pm

Let me say that generally I have lovely table manners. However, I just had my L&G of a scramble with broccoli with 2 tbsp of salsa. It was so tasty, I licked my plate when I was done to get every last smudge of egg and salsa...I was alone when I did this but near an open window. The neighbors must think I was raised in a cave.

Didn't it get all over your chin? When we were little we got to lick the cake batter bowls clean and our faces were always a mess after!

I always lick the top of the shaker jar when I make pudding (if I could fit my face in, I'd lick the whole thing). It's why I stopped eating it at work.

You know what always bugs me? On cooking shows, they scoop out batter or whatever they are cooking into a pan and leave so much of it in the bowl. What a waste.

Now, I can say I have not really licked the bowl clean, but boy oh boy, you would be amazed at how much you can get when you scrape that spoon around enough.
Don't really care as long as everything's better than yesterday was...

uh.... you mean this isn't normal??!! all this time i've been licking plates, bowls, etc and i thought this was a normal practice amond MF's... j/k... but yes, my plate is usually cleaned up pretty well w/ my fork/spoon... I don't think i've actually licked the plate, but i do this other crazy thing.... like if i'm making somthing for Mikaela and i REALLY wanna taste it, i take a very small bite, chew it til you really can't chew anymore, swish it around my mouth for the flavor, then spit it all out in the trash.... .okay, i think that's worse than licking the plate clean!!

Yes, but its not sinless. The sinless Sweet Cream and Sinless chocolate are good, but still not Medifast compliant.

On the licking the plate thing... I've been known to. I also use my finger to clean the edges of the bowl. I've also been known to wet my finger and finish the crumbs inside the back of soy crisps.

Oh yeah, for sure :). I get every last crumb out of the bar packaging, too :).

And, actually, I am with QT . I thought this was normal behaviour ... hee hee. Well, okay. We don't do that with everything but I do that with my pudding sometimes and to be honest, it doesn't lick up too well :? :(. It's just not the right licking consistency.

There is even a kitchen utensil called a "rubber spatula" that is made to scrape out all of a bowl's contents! I guess they are in a too much of a rush to show proper technique.

Hi

Postby dede4wd » January 8th, 2007, 10:39 pm

My co-workers chastised me for licking the inside of a bar wrapper. Caught red handed and white-nosed (it was an oatmeal raisin bar!)
