Had a really bad Saturday!!!

Postby Tiolazz » April 9th, 2006, 7:24 am

Maaaaaan......

Yesterday was my husbands birthday, plus my sister drove in from out of town because my niece had her Mary Kay debut, so I had to do a Mary Kay party in the afternoon.....and a birthday dinner last night.....

I had my shake for breakfast, my bar for mid morning , then all hell broke loose... I thought I would be going back home again before we had to go to the debut, but ran out of time. (my sister always wants to shop when she comes to Dallas), and ended up not having anything else to eat until my lean and green at 8pm.... omg, I was starving... and to add insult to injury, my sister, her daughter and her son in law went and got chick'fille and brought it back to the debut and ate it right in front of me... I was gnawing on my fist by this point.

but one good thing, I did not partake of the cookies, dips, crackers, chips, sherbet and all those other goodies that they had at the party... but I did feel faint by the time we got to the restaurant...

Now on to that, my husband chose Steak N'Ale, because he knew they had a decent salad bar not stuffed with all that stuff that is not good for you ... I split a steak with him, a small one, actually had less than 4 ozs, had no potato, did have a salad and a side of asparagus, (which was by the way, was just 4 pieces of asparagus).... I was so full, and felt so much better..

I drank water, water, water all day long to try to stop my stomach from it's hunger pains, and I think I did well considering... but I know that I really messed up my metobolism yesterday.

Anyhow, just had to vent because I am feeling so bad that I did not stick to my guns with my family and just stay at home, or at the very least that I did not think enough ahead to make sure that I had supplies with me....

Bad bad Terri..... :x

I still lost 4.6lbs this week, but I know it would have been more had I not had such a bad day, but my resolve for this next week is to stick to the plan and not even have any snacks, maybe I can make up for it that way this next week.

I only have 11 weeks left until I leave for Italy, and a long, long way to go...

and Unca Tim, add me to that 10# club, whoo hoo......

thanks everybody for listening to my rant, Good luck this week to us all....

Terri-

Don't be upset with yourself you did the very best you could and what a victory that you did not cave and have anything off program.

I am very very very proud of you!

You also used this as a learning experience in case this happens again!

Way to show us how it is done

One idea for avoiding unexpected days like the one you had yesterday might be to throw a shake packet or two into a ziplock baggie & keep them in your purse, or perhaps pick up some of the cranberry mango drink so you can have it with people at things like Mary Kay parties & still look like you're partaking...
Just a thought :)
I know you're going to hit your goal before you go to Italy!!

Why such a small steak, though? Less than 4 ounces?

Hi There,
You did the best you could. :D We learn as we go and I know that next time you'll be much better prepared. The RTD's are handy to have along as a just in case. Robin is right you could have had a little bigger steak.

Ok now as confessions go ........ I too had an interesting Saturday-- pulling old icky carpeting --getting ready for new carpeting. Last night because I had toooo few calories during the day ... I got the hungries and because I'm technically on maintenance ...but would like to part with 10 pounds or so.... I headed for my freezer. There I saw some delicious looking orderves left over from some previous occasion. So I heated up my oven and popped them in with a ----" I'll be really good tomorrow...." :?
I think I had a case of Divine Intervention. Somehow I managed to turn the orderves into dog biscuits -- blackened ones at that -- and fill my kitchen with thick blue grey smoke. I spent the rest of the evening opening windows -- and it's still cold here in Washington State -- flapping doors to move the air -- running fans -- and doing whatever else I could think of to get rid of the smell. It's still here today!! I don't think orderves sound tooooo goooood to me anymore

Jan, that was DEFINITELY diving intervention, or gourmet "Cajun" dog treats!

Terri, you did GREAT considering! Just make sure you get enough Lean for your L & G!

I had a similar situation today. I was on the wrong side of the track (from my supplies) and didn't take a supplement with me (I'll be right back, yeah right!) I was ravenous! I'm at a racetrack! All the carnival food known to man. Everybody around me eating. What did I do? The best thing I could (which was what you did!) I dove into the Media Center and they saved me! They had some cut-up celery on their veggie plate and I was able to grab some and run and that tided me over until I could get back to my supplements. We live and Learn. When I got back, I put a bar and an RTD in my "tech kit" and actually put a shaker and a packet on my golf cart! I learned a lesson, I'm prepared now!

We're winning, can't you tell?

The devil is always stepping in to mess me up as well. Just try to stay prepared. I have been putting a couple of bags of shakes in my purse and diaper bag for the last week and it has helped me to stay on plan. I can always find water to mix it, sometimes no ice but I choke it down anyway for the greater good of mankind!!! I dont want anyone to have to see this out of shape body any longer than they have to. You'll get the hang of it.Just put extas in anything that leaves the house with you.

I really admire you guys for your willpower. It's amazing how you didn't cave in to the yummy food around! I wish I can learn to be like that from you!

Postby gryffwitch37 » April 10th, 2006, 2:03 pm

This actually sounds like me today. I had it rough when I done my shake for breakfast and midmorning...but when it came for lunch....I had a pizza attack....geesh.....I had to have pizza, I caved in... :x :brickwall: I know it was stupid, but as you all know it's hard to really get started with no support from home...you guys are great, and I thank you for listening when I need a shoulder to cry on....I already know it's going to be hard for me at least 3 more days this week...so I may have to start up again on Monday.....since it is Easter....big dinner is planned on Friday ....and my son's Easter party.....on Thursday.....and big dinner planned on Easter Sunday.....so I may just wait and start up again then....sheesh....I hate holidays.

Michelle
