Holly, not to rain on your parade, but imitation crab is usually really high in carbs so it wouldn't be allowed on the program.

If I'm reading correctly, it sounds like you drank 50oz of water at one time, and 16 at another? You should really try to drink water throughout the day.

Personally, I usually fill a 64oz. bottle and finish it before noon. Then, I will drink another 64oz. bottle and little bit more throughout the day (with meals and as a drink).

12 Grams is a lot...especially when it's not dietary fiber. I don't think I would be eating the artificial crab. Try a chicken breast or scallops instead.

Exactly. 12 grams of carb and only 6 grams of protein is not the balance we're looking for.

As an example, 6 ounces of chicken breast (and we should have 7, but I'm too lazy to do the math) has 0 carbs and 48 grams of protein.

YEAY! :)

Quick question for you (side note) - is your creamer above sugar-free? sweetened with Splenda?

I was just thinking if it has a dose of corn syrup in it or other sweeteners, you might be getting hungry from that...

Just a heads-up in case :) (I love flavored creamers too... sign!)

I know - it's a bummer. I've always liked the taste of imitation crab meat, but it's been a no-no all the way back to my Atkins days. In addition to being seriously over-processed, they add sugar to give it that sweet crab taste. What size serving do they list on the package? According to an Alaska Seafood site (one that sells imitation crab meat), a 7 oz serving would have:

204 calories
24g protien
2.6g fat
20.4g carb
1682mg sodium

While a 7 oz serving of real dungeness crab would have:

219 calories
44g protien
2.5g fat
1.9g carb
749mg sodium

Since we're getting so few calories on Medifast, we need to make sure every calorie is a good one. There's no room for "junk calories." I'm not calling imitation crab junk, but for our purposes, its 20 grams of carbs, 24 grams of protien, and almost 1700 milligrams of sodium aren't worth the 204 calories we'd have to spend to eat it. When we eat our L&G, our L needs to be giving us primarily protien to balance out the carbs we're getting in our G.

But don't be discouraged! This is a learning process, and we're all here to help each other out. That imitation crab will still be there (in moderation) after we've reached our goal! In the meantime, maybe on a Friday after you've had a really successful on-plan week, treat yourself to some honest-to-goodness crab (King crab . . . mmmmm . . .). Tastes great, less filling!

Don't be discouraged Holly. You did awesome the rest of the day and you didn't know about the crab. Honestly, I learned something too, I didn't know that the imitation stuff had all those carbs! I haven't eaten it but now I know to stay away :D Awesome job on the 15lbs :cleader:
