I
KNOW you can do it! I just know it.
For many of us Old Timers (who are not old), this has been a difficult year.
Some of us have lost
loved ones,
some have had
illnesses,
accidents,
some have
lost jobs
and others have gotten
promotions or
demotions...
life has happened and not all of it was pleasant.
Try as we may and as much as we want to,
we cannot control the things that happen around us
but we
CAN control the things we stuff into our mouth;
if we
WILL.
It is a matter of self-control.
It is a matter of WILL power.
We ALL have
a certain amount of will power and we all have
some self-control.
If we did not have a certain amount of it, we would all be thievin' and cheatin' and be total societal wack-ohs.
If we didn't have will power, we wouldn't
get up each day and
go to work.
If we didn't have self-control, we would all be
robbing banks,
shoplifting,
spouse-swappin' and
serial killers.
Some of us have been robbing the cookie jar, health-swappin' and cereal box killers!
Draw down from the deepest parts of yourselves and use your self-control to keep from reaching for the calorie-dense, carb and fat-laden artery and vein bustin' crud that entices you.
Food is sort of like quicksand to me; it is all too easy to get sucked in by the pull of it.
It is VITAL to eat every three hours, drink plenty of water, be prepared at ALL times and in ALL places with a packet, a bar and an RTD. Never leave home without it.
