ground turkey - lacking in taste - suggestions?

Postby Karakuri » June 12th, 2007, 3:55 pm

hi all!

i've been trying to come up with decent recipes to use ground turkey in. everything i try always turns out a bit bland. it's like the turkey meat doesn't soak up the flavour or what have you.

does anyone have any ideas of what i can do with this ground turkey?

i've tried different variations of chili to no avail.

thanks in advance!

try adding a little terryaki sauce to it! Not too much of course and count it as your condiment. Also make sure it is low sodium.

Try adding some powdered beef bullion and some cumin.

I also use the Jennie-O Italian flavored ground turkey.

Hope this helps!

I ask my butcher to grind turkey and chicken for me fresh. I usually give him a handful of parsley, coriander or chives and a shallot or 2 to grind with it.

i am unfamiliar with Jennie-O. there's a lot of products mentioned that i cannot find up in Canada. makes me sad, but what can i do!

i'll give the other suggestions a try. very frustrating trying to find stuff that works. :P
