GREAT TUESDAY

Postby coco » December 7th, 2004, 5:14 am

I thought Id take the opportunity to psyche everyone up for a great day today, if for o other reason than that it's tuesday. I don't know about yall but its raining wehre i am for the second day in a row--weatehr that makes me want to stay inside and EAT...so it'll take some special motivation for me and everyone in similar situations today to just say NO to the snacking monster and chug our shakes amnd water instead. I'll be out all day so not much opportunity for hot supplements coming up, but i think ill promise myself some awesome fast soup for when i get home tonight, and a super weigh in tomorrow! How are YOU going to pysche yourself past this foodie weather? (anyone remember that kids book Cloudy witha chance of Meatballs, by the way? It's the best). Remember, just becasue we may want to hibernate today doestn mean we need to come out of the day looking like bears and feeling sick and bloated...we can come out on the other side THINNER when the sun finally does come out!
Good luck to us all, and happy shaking!

great Tuesday

Yes, it's yucky weather here too. Wet. But it's supposed to be 70 today (it's December, for heaven's sake - what's it doing being 70?).

Everyone celebrate with me on my 6th week of Medifasting. I have lost 18.6 lbs. Not an amazing loss & to be completely honest, I had hoped for more. I was hoping to join the 20# Club today (a symbolic gesture for a milestone), but it won't be long!

I'm HAPPY with this. It's 18.6 lbs less weight (and I didn't gain over Thanksgiving). I have discarded one big size of clothes & gotten some new clothes from the REGULAR section (I know everyone can identify with that!). I got a boost from reading the posts today, as well as a great email from my girlfriend (who is also a Medifaster), with some great tips about getting back on track.

And I'm happy with my first 6 weeks on this journey. I love the food & the convenience & the fellowship on this board. I went to the grocery store last night & was stuck with how happy I was at the checkout with my bottled water, Better Than Bouillon (highly recommended!!!) and diet drinks.

Thank you to everyone for helping me stay on track.

I love Better than Bullion as well. Good stuff!

And congrats to both of you! Keep at it! :D

ugh, or shall i say NOT so great tuesday?
After ten great days of MF-ing, I somehow succumbed to the evil forces, totally pigged out, and now feel really gross, of course. Believe me DONT do it. I was going to weigh in tomorro wand was so psyched for that, but i think ill wait a few more days now for that. I feel so terrible, bleh, both physically and mentally since i ruined so much progress probably etc. But anyway, I am ready to restart, and stay on for longer (well ideall never to cheat again, right?) but I was WONDERING if anyone who happens to have gone off the derech before had any special suggestions for how to deal with the day after? i.e. anything to make me not feel icky and superfat tomorrow (like an eating hangover cure) and to repair damages quickly...i dont know, extra water or something? If you have any thoughts, let me know...and DONT end up in my situtation, it's not great.

Coco,

I think the most important thing is to learn from it. What pushed you over the edge? What thoughts were you having that made you wind up bingeing?

For me, I have had to constantly work at re-training my thought processes. Changing 'If I eat I'll feel better' to 'Eating isn't going to make me feel better, I'll feel worse and it's not worth it'. I've been working on it for 9 months now and it's been hard, but I'm making tremendous headway.

Most of us are here because we've got unhealthy views and behaviors about food - and they need to change to healthy ones.

Get right back on track and don't look back.
