Gotta share (Long winded, sorry)

Postby MusicalMomma » February 5th, 2006, 3:10 pm

Hello All! I just had to share two victories with my medifast forum friends...

1st - I am down an entire size! I was putting off trying on the clothes I "outgrew" because I was afraid of disappointment. Well, yesterday I put on my old jeans and they fit PERFECTLY...So, today I got even more daring. I tried on an entire outfit that I could not wear since last March. It fits GREAT!!! Hubby was admiring the cleavage that now pertrudes past my belly!! (hope that was OK to say hehe)...I really feel GREAT!!

2nd - yesterday our family was going snow tubing...we got all bundled up, drove 30 minutes to get there, only to encounter a big "HILL CLOSED" sign! Well, the kids started to cry and my stress level was getting up there...we decided to take them to Applebee's for dinner. I WAS really wanting to pig out!!! (So was Jon, but he's much stronger than I am). I actually planned to give myself permission to have a cheese burger, appetizers and just let it all go....BUT when the time came, I ordered the grilled chicken salad! OH BOY did I pout about eating according to plan. But ya know what. After we ate, I felt SO much better and was SO relieved that I didn't go off program! I KNOW I'd still be kicking myself today if I had blown it!

Ya know, you all play a big part in helping me (and others) make wise choices. I kept thinking of all of you out there, sticking with it, not giving in to temptation and making it work....that got me through a really tough afternoon/evening.

Love to you all!!!!!

YEAH JOYCE!!! You are incredible! I know exactly how you feel. We went to dinner on Friday & I watched everyone eating all the chinese food although, I didn't stick to plan I ate so much less than usual. When I stepped on the scale the last 2 days my weight was down, granted it was only .2 but that is still less than I weighed a week ago. And I think it has a LOT to do with the people here. You all give me support too. Just watching everyone else's success makes me feel like I can do it too. It's great!

Thank you! :goteam:

Congrats on fitting into old clothes! It opens whole new wardrobe possibilities, doesn't it?! And good for you for sticking with the program, despite the stressful day. That's proof that you are controlling the food, and the food is not controlling you. That's freedom. And that's another step closer to goal. :woohoo:

That's awesome, Joyce! Congratulations!

And it's funny, I think sometimes giving yourself permission to cheat helps you not do it, you know? You know it's your choice.

YOu know some ground turkey or beef with brocolli and Molly McCheese is a good substitute for dinner. You get the beefy/onion/pickle thing when you cook the meat, sprinke it with onions and cheese, roll it in a lettuce leaf and add some pickles. For the days that you gotta have the hamburger, go ahead, just get lean beef and sprinkle on the cheese. It tastes pretty good. I usually add in some tomatoes (canned) and have a side salad with blue cheese dressing (Walden Farms is good). It is just like what I usually would get in Outback or somewhere.

Sidrah

What a wonderful idea and one that I had never thought of!! I think I will do that for my lean and green tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

Weird! What IS IT with the cheeseburger craving?

Me too! Tonight! Watching "Brokeback Mountain", well, the beginning, anyway... not the teary middle and ending. (What an incredible movie by the way. Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal both are amazing.)

Must have something to do with my equating beef with the west ;)

Luckily, I survived the insane wanting, drank my shake that I had brought and left in the car while I was in the movie... and then came home and had some nice hot Chai mix... mmm...

Yes, that burger will still be around when we are at goal... and turning down the food gets easier the more you do it! :)
