I got my shipment!!!!

Postby Shana » April 5th, 2006, 1:28 pm

YAY!!!! The FedEx man brought me a present while I was running errands this afternoon!!! I have to admit, I kind of expected the box to be bigger... and fuller... lol but everything was there & I have it all organized - soups, hot drinks, shakes & pudding in a big underbed storage box, bars in the fridge (I live in Florida, everything melts lol), and the duplicate boxes (chili, vanilla & chocolate shakes) in the cupboard.

I cannot wait to get started tomorrow!!! :cleader:

And, as if the big box of Medifast goodies wasn't enough motivation, I bought a new digital scale to replace my old analog dial scale... According to this little piece of work that came straight from satan, I'm actually 12.2lbs fatter than the analog scale said I was *hyperventilate*.
I was on the phone with a friend of mine while testing the scale, and lets just say the friend thinks it's hilarious that I weighed myself 10 times in hopes of tripping the thing up. Said friend has also refused to get on this scale. Ever. lol To give the scale currently named Evil another shot, I will weigh myself again tomorrow before my first shake before I change my ticker. :x :hammerhead:

The bright side is that I'm even more ready than I already was to start & stick with it 100% because 225.2 scared the beejeebers out of me!

So, Go team Medifast!!!! woohooO!!!

Postby TheGirlNext Door » April 5th, 2006, 1:31 pm

I am still waiting on mine. Should be here tomorrow, and I will begin on Monday (since out of town this weekend).

The scale is just a number, always remember that. I hope one day to get to the point where I never weigh myself. I want to judge myself on how my body looks and feals...where I can judge my how my clothes fit (oh and only having a few sizes in the closet..instead of size 20 to 7 like I have now!).

Image Ah I am so sorry that mean old scale did that to you!

Look at it this way though at least it happened now before you started and not after you have been on program for a month or two cause I am sure it is easier moving that ticker up now rather than later in the program and heck...you will probably lose that extra weight in the first week!

Let us know how you are doing tomorrow

What a mean scale. I only use digital ones. In fact I just got my new one and it is one pound less then my old digital one. I am one of those that tortures themselfs everyday and steps on the scale. I do it right after I wake up (I use the bathroom first  )

Anyway, the first few days are the hardest but YOU CAN DO IT! Drink lots of water.

:jumprope: I'm so glad you got your shipment and that you are ready to start! That is half the battle! With your great attitude and sense of humor, you will be successful.

I know what you mean about the evil scale  -- I had been avoiding it for over 6 months. I was guessing my weight and "thought" I had about 50 or so pounds to lose. My first morning on Medifast I put a new battery in the scale and stepped on :redhead: -- thank goodness everyone had left for school and work because I literally screamed! :whattha: I was 15 pounds higher than what I originally thought! I, too, kept getting off and on, but it kept reading the same thing! :scratchhead: When my son got home from school, I had him step on it (I know how much he weighs because we are having to actually having to work with his pediatrician to put weight on him) and he weighed correctly. Ugh. I thought about getting depressed, but then I decided that it only justified :hmmm: my going on MF even more and it has also helped me become more determined to get this weight off. :yay:

Again, welcome to the group! You will do great! :) :goodluck:

Congrats Shana!

As for the evil scale, I have one of those too... Just got it and it told me I was 2.4 pounds heavier than the analog.. not to mention I had water weight when I first started so now it looks like I was a lot heavier lol. Oh well, it won't matter once we get a few weeks in right? :D

lol thanks Ladies! I appreciate all the support!
The scale's official name is D*$! Evil, DEvil for short :D and I'm looking forward to losing the new 12.2lbs along with the previous 70lbs (this scale is like yo-yo dieting without the original loss!!! lol)
And Mom23 - I laughed so hard I almost choked when reading about your scale trauma since it was so close to mine!!! You're right when you say it reaffirms the decision to be ON Medifast!!!

Shake on ladies! We're all going to kick out fat (and DEvil scales) in the heinie!!! :)

The scale is definitely a double-edged sword

On good days, I could hug it but on bad days, well, let's not go there! Best of luck. You'll lose those phantom pounds before you know it.
